What are some little things I could ask for for Christmas to “level up” my day to day appearance?

I am trying to slowly get my shit together. I feel like I always look like a bit of a mess and want to just polish myself up a bit.

so far on my list I have:

• good dry shampoo
• nice conditioner, shampoo and a hair mask
• a good heat protectant

but what else can I use? I’m thinking some skincare to make my skin really smooth and glowy (I’m considering a skin and me prescription), things to make my makeup look better, anything like that?

Good steam iron and large, sturdy ironing board.

Personally I have a necklace and earrings that I never take off. Go with everything, classic designs and, in case of the earrings, small enough to sleep comfortably in. I think that makes me look better no matter what I throw on.

vitamin C serum really brightens my face - but I can only be arsed with that once my face is properly clean. And I can only be arsed with that if I have lovely white flannels like in a hotel and a luxurious gorgeous smelling cleanser!!

Skin and me is great. Worth the money imho

And get a decent haircut/colour. That makes me feel more out together

I‘m not sure if that counts as „small“. But a warm and stylish (whatever that word happens to mean to you) winter coat might be a good place to start. Such a game changer for winter outfits.

a flattering lip product (whether that’s a lipstick, tinted balm or anything in between) that won’t dry out your lips.

everyday earrings you genuinely like (and compliment your style).

For the good dry shampoo, the Living Proof Advanced one is amazing. Doesn't show at all my my very dark hair and means I can finally get away with not washing my fringe daily.
I'd add a great tinted lip balm to the list. The Bobbi Brown ones are amazing and I love Lanolips and Glossier's balm dot com too.

I would start with a good haircut and colour.
Good moisturiser and lip balm so you're glowy.
I use Clarins self tanning cream which just gives me a glow and fades gradually over the week or a luxurious bronzer for my face.
I like to feel 'polished' all over so once a week shave, body scrub and use the Clarins tanning cream on body.
Clear or pale pink nail polish on well manicured nails.
Hair mask once a week.

Best thing I did was to get a style analysis. I did an online one and hit style (pear) colour (autumn). It transformed what I wear for the better.

Agreed. If I bother to follow the advice I get compliments. If I wear scruffy black then I don't 😂

What online service did you use?

I bought a gold chain that was short enough to sit on my collarbone. I never take this off and makes me feel instantly put together as soon as I've brushed my hair 😆 🤣

The other thing is a nice watch, doesn't have to be pricey. I feel ready for the day as soon I've put it on.

Both very low effort.

For a bit more effort but highest return on investment would be facial massage with a any oil you like at bedtime. Just a few minutes consistently, I was amazed at the results.
