Vinted sizing

I want size 12 not size 14. There’s no way to filter out size 14s is there? It’s grouped together as Medium 🙄. Can anyone shed some light?

Oh its a nightmare. I think nearly everyone wants a size not two randomly grouped together that make no real sense.

So annoying. I’m a 14/16 so now I have to look at 12/14 and 16/18. Why have they done this? It’s definitely not better!

Thanks for the solidarity, glad it’s not just me!

It seems to me it was done by some young male designer who knows nothing about women’s sizes. Keep feeding back, they’ll see the error of their ways. It’s beyond stupid.

The worst bit is now they’re also merging the U.K. and US versions of Vinted we’ll also be having to parse what American “S,M,L” means in terms of what sizes they cover and what that means in our very different sizing, only we won’t be as familiar with the brands so we won’t know who cuts large, small, for pears or apples, etc without researching them. So much for a frictionless customer experience…

And also so much for the sustainability aspect of recycling old clothes - shipping small parcels across the Atlantic isn’t exactly planet friendly is it?

EllaPaella · 27/11/2025 09:21

It’s so annoying. I’m a 10 and the only way to see if something is an actual 10 (everything is listed as 12-14) is to read the seller’s blurb and hope they’ve put the actual size in their comments .

It was done to merge the UK and the US databases. You will now find US listings on the site, and people can buy your items from the US too. They won't be able to undo this without making a large change across both systems, which won't be happening anytime soon. Doing any further change now would just add to the chaos of incorrect listings and confused users.

I am not going to be buying anything from the US and will cancel any sales that originate from the US. Although I think the US customers will be as unkeen to buy second hand UK clothing as I am to buy US second hand clothing!

I’ve taken my remaining listings down - I can’t be faffed with overseas bloody shipping and customs to sell on my old clothes.

@rosydreams For a UK size 28, any old listings from before 10th November will have been automatically converted to the new size category of "8XL / UK 48-50". They will stay in that category until each seller manually edits them to be in the new size category for a UK size 28 which is "XXXL 28-30".

So, you might have more luck finding actual UK size 28 coats if you choose the "8XL / UK 48-50" size category, and then check the photos or listing details for the actual size. When I do this search, pretty much every coat that comes up is a UK28 rather than a UK48 or UK50.
