Hello oh wise ones. Could you wear this slightly summery dress with black tights and ankle boots for a night in a bar, sort of party night? Size 14-16, 5'8 budget £60ish for a dressy bar/pub night out. This sort of style is comfy for me, sleeves needed, waistline just about still there. Any ideas or advice welcome. Thanks

I think it might be better with dark green tights but I love the dress.

Tiny bit over budget but a reasonable bargain.

I love the shape of the first dress. My personal style rule is that pretty much anything can look good if you pair it with black tights, black boots and a biker jacket.

The original ones isn't in size anyhow, my peri brain is fighting logic these days. I am finding looking for a loose, trendy dress that doesn't show my upper thighs a task! Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks

Black tights & ankle boots will dress down the pink dress to be very casual, I think - which might be fine, but you say it's sort of a party? Something with some embellishment or velvety or something might be nice?

Or these? Well under budget, though not sure what they'd be like in the flesh. Burgundy is a good colour in winter. I love the satin high-necked one in all colours - though it might not "skim" over my boobs!

Do you do animal print? I hate how this is styled here - but it could look good with chunky boots & tights - while also being more party-ish than your pink one?

Subtle snake print. I don't know what colours/prints suit you - but I think for winter darker/brighter rather than pastel colours work better. Doesn't matter if they're lightweight fabric if you've got boots, tights & a coat/jacket on - it's more about the colour?

I’ve got the White Stuff one but wouldn’t wear it this time of year though, Phase Eight do dresses of a similar shape and length.
