How to fix my forehead!!!! Hate it!!

Stressheadmumma · 24/11/2025 09:26

I have a lot of migraines and think it causes me to frown a lot or muscle tension so have this wavy skin across my forehead and want to tighten it. Is Botox my only option? The rest of the lines on face are ok. I’m late 40’s. Anyone found anything other than Botox or fillers that would tighten it a bit.

I would try Botox. This may not be a popular response on here.

edited to add: I find that Botox gets rid of my forehead wrinkles, lifts my brows and gently 'opens out ' my eyes. I love it.

I’m just a few years older than you and my forehead has many more lines than yours! You look great. I don’t have any helpful tips but I genuinely don’t think you need to do anything xxx

Stillpoor · 24/11/2025 10:06

Your forehead looks fine.

sequinpanties · 24/11/2025 11:52

A tiny bit of Botox would erase these.

NotThatWay · 24/11/2025 12:11

Blimey, I can hardly seen any lines!

I've had Botox for much deeper frown lines. For yours, as a first step, I would suggest a peel, or one of those facials they do with electric nodes.

Or a course of infrared.

Lostsadandconfused · 24/11/2025 12:21

It’s caused by tightness.. the muscles in your glabella pulling underneath the skin.

Only botox will fix this, nothing you slap on the surface will make any difference.

Obeseandashamed · 24/11/2025 12:23

I would try Botox. I’ve had it on and off for years for the sole purpose of migraines. My lines are awful but I only have Botox when my migraines return and so usually end up having Botox once every 18 months or so. It works wonders. I’ve suffered with migraines since I was 3 years old and tried everything else but nothing works except for this.

Your skin looks amazing for late 40s, if I were you I’d more be trying to raise my confidence than mess with my face. Each to their own but I think Botox is obvious and I’d be less likely to notice fine lines on a woman of a perfectly normal age to have them.

UmberMoose · 24/11/2025 12:25

I did botox as it would help with this and then maintain a routine. Here goes my routine if you would be interested:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Garnier spf
Cicaplast
Evening:
LRP moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

Only obvious Botox is obvious. When I had some for my deep vertical frown lines, people started to tell me how rested I looked 😆The rest of my face, and forehead, moved fine.

thedevilinablackdress · 24/11/2025 12:49

A fringe is the option I go for

Wagonwheelsroff · 24/11/2025 12:50

i think either Botox or just accept it’s part of the aging process and totally normal! Doesn’t look bad to me

EgregiouslyOverdressed · 24/11/2025 12:57

I would consider Botox, not necessarily for aesthetic reasons but because it could give you physical relief from the migraines. I have it in my masseter muscles to address chronic jaw clenching and grinding and it makes a phenomenal difference.

Stressheadmumma · 24/11/2025 13:27

@EgregiouslyOverdressed I have had Botox medically for migraine and interestingly did nothing for the frown lines not my migraines. Wondering if paying for it cosmetically would be any different. I’d quite like in my jaw as well!

You look as if you're continually frowning so yes, Botox might work.

You have vertical frown lines, also called Number 11s- although they tend to be right between the eyebrows. Yours are shallower, but more 'wavy'.

The thing is- don't ask us, go to see a proper cosmetic doctor (not a beautician) and take advice. There are zillions of treatments now that can be used not just Botox or fillers.

summitfever · 24/11/2025 13:32

@NotThatWayto be fair my friend has been getting that done since early 30s and it does make a positive difference. It aged her way beyond her years. I think for deep lines you can see huge benefits that outweigh the cons but to me this lady’s are barely noticeable. I like to see the natural character on people’s face, everyone looks so taught these days. I don’t think anything of people choosing to have it I just enjoy natural faces and hope people can feel confident in their perfectly lovely skin 😊

My advice is don't set your heart on Botox, but see a cosmetic dr and say what do they suggest for the frown lines. There are all sorts of things now like microneedling, polynucleides, etc etc.

Empress13 · 24/11/2025 13:34

Botox has been used for people who suffer badly with migraines I remember reading

summitfever · 24/11/2025 13:35

For y all that reducing your stress levels will help op is there anything you can do for that? Obviously far greater benefits to that

pinkdelight · 24/11/2025 13:36

I feel like this issue is more in your head than on it. Your forehead is fine, very normal and nothing to be hated, nothing even to be noticed by anyone without the thoughts you're having. You can inject it but i think you're likely to look less 'right' overall than if you leave it alone, and as you go into your 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond, acceptance and self love is a better mode than hating such things. I'm not some big anti-botox person, but really this is one of those 'not an issue' objectively things so I genuinely would try to change the thoughts not the head.

RyanFudgingMurphy · 24/11/2025 13:42

Gosh my worry lines are much worse than yours! But I've learned to live with them. A curtain fringe also helps.

chickenlettuceunderbacon · 24/11/2025 15:07

Admittedly not an AIBU thread but you are being incredibly unreasonable if not ridiculous.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your forehead. To play on another beloved Mumsnet saying - we have lost sight of what normal foreheads look like.

Edited for typo

Moveoverdarlin · 24/11/2025 15:09

At 45 I have recently got my first Botox - I’m amazed at the results. Should have started years ago. I have a deep line on my forehead that has just vanished.

blackrabbitwhiterabbit · 24/11/2025 15:11

Your forehead looks good - great skin!

Ygfrhj · 24/11/2025 15:17

I've had Botox for masseter muscle and it's amazing. If you suffer from migraines just do it. The aesthetic results are a bonus.
