How to fix my forehead!!!! Hate it!!

I have a lot of migraines and think it causes me to frown a lot or muscle tension so have this wavy skin across my forehead and want to tighten it. Is Botox my only option? The rest of the lines on face are ok. I’m late 40’s. Anyone found anything other than Botox or fillers that would tighten it a bit.

Admittedly not an AIBU thread but you are being incredibly unreasonable if not ridiculous.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your forehead. To play on another beloved Mumsnet saying - we have lost sight of what normal foreheads look like.

I dye my hair because I don't want to be grey. Should I stop?

WinterHangingBasket · 24/11/2025 15:43

I frown/squint a lot because I am shortsighted and no amount of correction has ever got it quite right. I get headaches from the constant frowning. Botox has been a game changer in terms of getting rid of the headaches because it stops me screwing face up. I no longer see it as a cosmetic enhancement, more a medical one.

What do you think? Are they the same or is there more of a spectrum of things a person can do to themselves, requiring people to use their own judgement?

Of course I know what I think. I was responding to another poster.

My advice is don't set your heart on Botox, but see a cosmetic dr and say what do they suggest for the frown lines. There are all sorts of things now like microneedling, polynucleides, etc etc.

Microneedling at home can also help but botox is preferred

GumFossil · 25/11/2025 11:00

Botox will erase the lines and help to stop the headaches.

GrealishGoddess · 25/11/2025 11:16

Unpopular opinion but - Botox imparts a giveaway shiny look to the forehead . Sure it’ll iron out the natural texture, but observers will always notice an “off” appearance

My skin has that shine because I use tret. It's not unique to Botox.

That isn't botox. That is whatever other facial treatments are being used. Have a look at any of the threads about Korean skincare and people actively going after the 'glass skin' look. I stopped using facials and peels for precisely this reason.

Idofeelbetter · 25/11/2025 12:50

Frownies, facial and head massage and taping. Works wonders for me.

100% agree

My face feels less tense after a face massage with guasha.. it makes me realise how tensely i was holding my face. It will not be as effective as botox, let's be real.. buuuut as a soothing temporary thing you could try face massage and gua sha.

BeNoisyFish · 26/11/2025 12:08

I actually like the shiny forehead look what i dislike it potential droopiness of eyebrows since my eyelids are kind of hooded already and my eyebrows are a little low set....!

An experienced person knows how to avoid this - don't go to people who have done a two hour course.

Iamthemoom · 26/11/2025 19:54

Try EmLift if you can find a salon near you that does it. It really lifts and smooths the forehead quite a bit.

SkaneTos · 26/11/2025 21:28

Sorry to hear about your migraines, that must be tough! I used to have migraines when I was a teenager, it's so horrible. Luckily they stopped for me, but I really commiserate.

I think your forehead looks fine, and you seem to have great skin.
But it's your opinion of your forehead that matters, not mine!
I don't know anything about Botox, but you have had plenty of advice about that from previous posters.

Another idea is to get a fringe. If you don't like it, you can just let the hair grow out again.

CoolPlayer · 26/11/2025 23:56

Your forehead looks younger than mine and I am mid 30s x

Guasha is a natural thing so it takes time, botox is more faster basically when it comes to fine line

Andromed1 · 27/11/2025 16:06

Very gentle and regular face massage should help a lot. You can do it yourself. The skin is fine.

SirChenjins · 27/11/2025 16:12

You're a woman with good skin in her late 40s - of course you'll have some lines, it's perfectly normal and natural as you get older. If you stick botox in there you'll still have lines elsewhere, so your face and body will start to look out of kilter very soon.

oh for goodness sake 😂

SirChenjins · 27/11/2025 16:28

Why for goodness sake? If you think a line free face and a neck, chest and hands with lines is a good look then crack on. I'm in my 50s - women (it's mainly women) who have this look odd (imo obvs).

sequinpanties · 28/11/2025 10:22

It's such an exaggeration - we're talking about a little light Botox here 😂
