DD needs a dress for her 6th form prom - should she go for this or play safe with something like this

Or any other suggestions would be gratefully recieved - pic of DD on my profile

I think the second is better for her age. the first is a bit 'Sarah Brightman In Phantom Of The opera'.

katiekkrruunncchh · 08/06/2008 22:22

I have to admit I prefer the second one. It is very elegant and not flouncy.

geordieminx · 08/06/2008 22:22

I like the first one.... the second one is more likely to be what everyone else is wearing - depends whether she wants to stand out or blend in....

If she is a size 6 18 year old I'm sure she will looking stunning in either

BlueDragonfly · 08/06/2008 22:24

i don't like the first one at all - sorry!

looks a bit 'red carpet' to me

2nd one is nicer

DirtySexyMummy · 08/06/2008 22:24

Don't like either of them. First one is really horrible (sorry) and second one looks very gothy.

this is cool, and really on trend too
For full length, this is lovely

Yabbadabbadooo · 08/06/2008 22:25

The first is wayyyyyy to old for her.

Your DD is absolutely beautiful BTW.

soapbox · 08/06/2008 22:25

I love the first one - but I always liked to stand out

My friends preferred to blend in & I think the second is lovely for that

LullyOfShallot · 08/06/2008 22:26

Hello lovely one

I guess the second one...but I think your daughter would look good in sackcloth, she's so beautiful.

BBBee · 08/06/2008 22:26

the lily allen one from DSM is lovely.

ravenAK · 08/06/2008 22:26

She could carry either of them off, I reckon! Although being a bit of an old goth I think the first has the edge...

funnypeculiar · 08/06/2008 22:27

Bucking the trend rather, I do like the first one - she looks like a girl who could get away with something a bit different & dramatic. The second one is nice, but I like the theatricality of the green...

DirtySexyMummy · 08/06/2008 22:27

this is nice and a bit different.

Sidge · 08/06/2008 22:28

The first one is fantastic but the colour is vile.

Second one lovely if safe.

ash6605 · 08/06/2008 22:28

The first one is stunning,I love it but not sure it's something an 18 yr old could carry off. Sorry but really don't like the second one, really boring and goth looking.

UniversallyChallenged · 08/06/2008 22:29

My neice has just had her prom and the girls were more in dresses like the second one. It's beautiful imo

BlueDragonfly · 08/06/2008 22:31

i am not sure about her hair colour going with that second dress tbh.

eenybeeny · 08/06/2008 22:31

OH MY GOD

1st one is SOOOOO fabulous!! FGS if you have a chance to wear a dress like that with a nice body wear it!!!!! I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

REALLY REALLY LOVE IT! Dress and colour!

BibiThree · 08/06/2008 22:31

Personally, love the first one, if she's tall and dark. If she's short, then take it from a short woman, the fewer ruffles the better!
If she's a blend-in kinda gal then go for the second, if not, the first.

Thomcat · 08/06/2008 22:33

honest opinio - first one made me have a sharp intake of breath - not in a good way. Really OTT and frothy and just generally NO.

Second one - don't like the lace opr colur, like a nightie.

Sorry.

I do however think your DD is beautiful

lazarou · 08/06/2008 22:33

ash6605 · 08/06/2008 22:35
