Is it as good as the Facebook posts make out?

nearing 50, uneven skin tone, some dark spots. I’ve never worn foundation as I don’t like things to feel heavy on my face and it often means my pores get congested. Fancy brightening my skin and feeling a bit fresher without too much effort!

any advice gratefully received.

I bought it and I really don't the the coverage is beth good, even when you go over it multiple times. I don't even have much to cover, my skin is fairly even

EsmeArcher · 22/11/2025 13:36

I’ve been using it for the past few months and really like it. I’m a bit older than you, and likewise uneven skin tone etc, but this product works really well and I can get the right amount of coverage, and it’s easy to vary if I want a deeper tone.
I was finding it increasingly difficult to find the right colour for me using a liquid foundation and they also began to feel really caked on my face, as my skin has become more dry with age.

Chemenger · 22/11/2025 13:41

I’ve been using it for about a month, previously didn’t generally wear makeup. It definitely brightens my skin and evens out the tone and texture, which is what I was looking for. It feels nice (as in I’m not conscious of it at all). It is very subtle, more like a tinted moisturiser effect than foundation. It’s very quick and easy to apply with the brush.

WhatIsAScottishEgg · 22/11/2025 13:43

I don't rate the foundation, it doesn't give me good enough coverage to go without liquid foundation but I love the eyeshadows and blusher. The blusher in particular is lovely and has a highlighter undertone to it.

waitingforthehallmarkedman · 22/11/2025 13:59

I really like it. I can't wear liquid foundation anymore. This gives me natural coverage and no shine.

MildlyAnnoyed · 22/11/2025 14:02

I have it. I quite like it. It doesn’t sit & settle in the lines. The coverage isn’t great. Certainly not heavy coverage but if you don’t need it, then it’s fine.

WithIcePlease · 22/11/2025 14:52

It's a part of my collection of day to day foundations.
It makes me look healthy without looking made up
Or sometimes if I have gone shiny in the day after tinted moisturiser, I plonk it on top of if I need to look a bit better going out
I'll buy it again when I run out.

Back21970 · 22/11/2025 15:36

I like it, I use it over a bit of concealer, quite a natural look.

There are lots of deals on at the moment - I got the foundation, brush plus a palette for around £50
so if you are going to try it now is a good time.

Mumteedum · 22/11/2025 15:40

It's nice but you need to build it up if you need more coverage. It also makes my skin feel 'thirsty'. I wouldn't say it's dried my skin but it feels like it kind of can't breathe.

ItsFridayIminLoveJS · 22/11/2025 15:45

Im 66 and wish it had been out sooner. I love it.. l do use a tiny bit of concealer on blemishes but the baked powder is absolutely a game changer. I would also invest in her brush too.. it might look like a little compact but it lasts absolutely ages. I get facial sweats a lot due to a medical condition..and this stays put. I found a voucher code on line for 20% off first order.. but I've had it a year now.

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 22/11/2025 15:47

I’ve tried the balance & glow, the balance & brighten, in 2 different shades. It’s awful stuff, looks like proper old lady make up on the skin. Won’t be buying again.

Jugendstiel · 22/11/2025 15:49

I like it - the colour is very natural but it makes my skin look dry which is aging. I end up slicking a bit of NUXE oil over the top to get a bit of a glow. Mine ran out recently and I haven't used anything instead for about a week. Already my skin is looking a bit better, so I want to try something with a bit more juice to it next. Not sure what though.

I would still use it to give a small amount of even and natural coverage - just not every day. as I had been. The kabuki brush is gorgeous though. Highly recommend it. First big makeup brush that doesn't cause spots and blocked pores on my over-sensitive skin.

CaptainCallisto · 22/11/2025 17:56

I've been using the balance and brighten for over a decade (started mid-30s), and it's great for day to day wear for me. Very subtle, just balances out my blotchy bits, and covers some scarring I have so it's less noticeable. I tend to use a liquid if I'm going out for anything more special, as it isn't full coverage, but for work etc, it's perfect (for me). I'm actually concerned that it's all over SM again - last time it happened it went out of stock and I nearly ran out!

Branster · 22/11/2025 18:16

It isn't magic but it is good for an overall brighter look. I think you can layer it for a fuller coverage.
I am not a heavy makeup user but this powder is incredibly easy to apply so I use it every week just to look more even colour wise.
If I'm doing full on makeup to cover every little imperfection, which is not often, then I apply a normal liquid foundation first, then this powder on top.
I got Balance-Brighten colour correcting foundation a year ago. In the sales, just checked ordered 2nd December last year. Excellent value. It will last me another 5 years the way I use it.

EquinoxQueen · 22/11/2025 19:19

You guys are amazing - thank you so much for your honesty! Sounds like I should give it a go with all the deals, light coverage is what I’m after so hopefully won’t be disappointed.

grateful to you wise ones x

I think it takes away that lovely ‘skin’ look but without much coverage. So I feel it’s the worst of both worlds

If you have lovely skin (those were the days🙂) this is probably true. But my skin isn’t as lovely as it used to be and needs a bit of help to not look either red or greyish!

DeclineandFall · 23/11/2025 11:26

Didnt work for me. Gave me a sort of old fashioned cakey look and wore off in patches.
