I have short hair and have never used straighteners but my dd is asking for ghds for Christmas. There’s a massive range in price but the original ghds are only about £120 with others going up to nearer £250. Are the originals still good? Thanks!

The originals are great.

I have always bought ghd and the quality has significantly declined in my opinion. The first pair I ever bought lasted almost 10 years and the latest broke after 6 months. I know they’ve asked for ghd but I’ve got cloud 9 instead which feel sturdier.

Having said that if they really want ghd I would say the basic model is just as good as the more expensive versions.

I’ve got the GHD basic straighteners. Had them for about 7/8 years I think. Still great and going strong.

Never had any as good as the originals I got 20 years or so ago. I don’t rate them or cloud 9 at all. Big reason why I have short hair now. Nothing gets mine straight now.

I have GHD’s. They are good and the originals are great. I also own bright pink ones by Diva and to be honest I’d say I prefer the Diva ones! I have naturally very curly hair and I get it poker straight with both my GHD’s and my Diva’s. The straightened effect lasts longest with my Diva’s.
