If you usually buy a beauty advent calendar, have you bought one this year?

I've noticed there are loads still left in M&S and online in Boots.

I'm not getting one this year (been an expensive few months) and am wondering if I'm not the only one?

I always used to get the M and S one, but I find beauty calendars have more and more things I never use these days. I love toiletries and skincare. I never wear any kind of eye make up and like to choose my own colours for lipsticks.

As I hardly ever go out it takes me ages to get through any of the make up I do own.

I might still be tempted if they can't sell them then reduce them in the sale.

Not for one this year when previous years would have me buying two .
I found I wasn't using many of the items and the make up side were never quite the right shade of quality I liked .
So this year I've treated myself to a few collections of products from places I know suits my skin ( Liz Earle / Elemis / Loccitane )

I agree. I think it is a mistake for them to assume that the same shade suits everyone.

I’ve stopped buying a beauty advent calendar as there are always things I don’t use. I have treated myself to a No 7 Gift set instead.

I bought the M& S one with the Sparks deal, so it was £45. I thought there was a minimum spend to get it, but there wasn’t.

I was actually on the site looking at the leg cream that is in there and my sister uses the mascara, so with everything else it made better financial sense to get the box.

LaddersAndLadders · 21/11/2025 14:23

I missed out on Holland and Barrett one. M&S one has too many sample sizes. Paid for one from JustMyLook but seems to have got lost and they won't reply with update on where it is.

H&B have special offers on now. Might be worth buying some favourites. I'm tempted.

IDontHateRainbows · 22/11/2025 09:35

Yes, I buy them all! I pick out what I like and sell what I don't to make the money back!

I normally buy the vogue one. Haven’t this year due to finances and I’m gutted. Avoiding looking online at what’s inside this year

Nope. I've done them a fair few years and was fed up last year of the amount of repeat items so this year I bought a beautiful necklace which cost similar to what I'd spend on a calendar.

What a lovely idea.

Spoiler alert - it isn't great this year, so you're not missing much.

Some underwhelming cheap-looking accessories, Sol de Janeiro and one fragrance. The first year was great.

winewolfhowls · 23/11/2025 21:45

Previously bought loccitane but the products always seem to be the same! Nice box designs though!

lalaloopyhead · 24/11/2025 15:33

I got the M&S one this year - I've never felt that they seemed worth it before, but there are quite a few products in it that I actually use or have wanted to try so it felt like a good deal to me.

thinkofablinkingnamewoman · 24/11/2025 15:42

I was intending to save my Beauty Drop money for the Liberty one but blew it all on perfume instead. I've gone minimal and bought Nivea ones for me and DH - they're heavily reduced at the moment!

ledmeup · 24/11/2025 16:00

Not bought them in a few years, I’m quite fussy about what products I like though & have tried a lot over the years so I know what works for me. I also hardly ever like the make up potions.

asparagusffern · 24/11/2025 16:35

I usually get one for my mum, got her Clarins & M&S over the last couple of years. My procrastination this year has paid off as I just got the Harvey Nichols at 30% off. I think
she'll love it, feels very luxe with Augustinus Bader, Eve Lom, Bamford. She'll pass on the bits she doesn't want to dd so hopefully I've earned some brownie points with both of them

beguilingeyes · 24/11/2025 18:51

A lot.of them seem to be heavily discounted at the moment. The Latest In Beauty has 30% off. Maybe the bubble has burst? Very few are sold out this year. Even Looks Fantastic which usually sells out really quickly.
