If you usually buy a beauty advent calendar, have you bought one this year?

I've noticed there are loads still left in M&S and online in Boots.

I'm not getting one this year (been an expensive few months) and am wondering if I'm not the only one?

Always got the M&S one, but not this year. I feel like the items are all a variation on things I already have from previous AC. I like the summer bags, think they’ve finally stopped putting in the pink nail polish! Might get AC if they flog it off…

I've got a Harvey Nichols perfume 12 day calendar. I normally buy a beauty one but I just didn't fancy any of the ones this year - far too many repeats and nothing really called out to me, especially at the price point they all seem to have adopted.

I’ve got the Liberty one as like others I save my Beauty Drop subscription for it.
The Avent 12 day one has been on my radar for ages. Apart from one particular product which I love it’s not a brand I know well but it’s full of products I’d like to try and the calendar seems as good a way as any to do so.
Unfortunately I’m not made of money and having just reminded myself of what’s in the Liberty calendar and putting my sensible hat on I think that the Avent calendar will have to be added to my list of items I want but don’t actually need.

I always buy my friend the m and s one for her late Nov birthday but haven’t this year as with the £35 spend just to order it made it really expensive, I’ve bought her the look fantastic one instead. M & S must have loads left as there was 25% off in the sparks app this week.

I’ve got Look Fantastic this year, DH and I usually treat each other to a nice one so I’m looking forward to it.

The L'Oreal one is currently down to £64 in Amazon black Friday sale

The irony being I might have been tempted if they'd sent it to me as a regular buyer of their calendar - I got some useless offer on menswear instead 🙄

Sparks is so rubbish!!

The Bramley one was on offer for £90 so I bought that too and will break it up and use some of the contents for presents.

My mum buys me the M&S one as a surprise EVERY YEAR! 😂

I love it but don’t use half of it but give to apprieciative friends

I’ve bought one I think every year for the past 4 years. I got the justmylook one this year, which was £80. I don’t go nuts on them, I spend max £150 for one or two calendars. The products usually last for months and I usually find a few things I’d never have considered that I go on to buy and use, so seems worth it for me.

No, they were just getting too expensive and I have lots of unopened and unused items from previous years.

Bought the M&S one but may not repeat next year

I normally have a Liberty one but haven’t got one this year. Too many other people to buy presents for and I couldn’t justify it even though I do think it’s a good value way of trying products I wouldn’t otherwise come across or choose to buy, some of which in previous years have become firm favourites.

I might treat myself to a posh choccy one instead.

No, I usually get the M&S one but it looks a bit samey this year and as others have said it’s more expensive. I might get the Wallace and gromit chocolate one instead

I bought the Liberty one with my beauty drop money. I nearly didn’t as it feels like a massive indulgence and I could have spent the money on presents for other people, but honestly this has been a dreadful year and it will bring me much happiness in December.

The one I’d love is the Diptyque but it is so expensive that I can’t possibly justify it. One day!

This year my DH bought me the ok beauty calendar. Has two of my goto brands, Bobbi Brown face base & Laura Mercier translucent setting powder. Also has an amazing facial cleanser ( Eve Lom).

Have had many over the years but this one is one of the best.

No. I have a couple of beauty boxes and the 11 samples that clarins were giving away recently and I will get DH to fill an advent calendar box saved from a prior year so I can’t see what’s going on it.

The M and S one is too expensive this year and nothing very exciting.

Yes I have bought one for all my staff, myself and my immediate family.

I got one a few years ago, boots I think. It was nice but half of the stuff I didn't need or use so didn't bother again. It's just more consumerism.

I have a big stash of toiletries that I need to use up so have put a ban on beauty and skincare for myself this year. I'll get one for DD1 though.
