If you usually buy a beauty advent calendar, have you bought one this year?

I've noticed there are loads still left in M&S and online in Boots.

I'm not getting one this year (been an expensive few months) and am wondering if I'm not the only one?

I got space NK which is more pricey than usual for me, I usually stick to around £100 but I was made redundant and had some spare cash

QuidNuncy · 19/11/2025 14:45

I got some cheap ones with a load of discounts in Boots and a m and s one - for adult dd and the teen sdds - I’m not interested in them tbh but they are.

ConnieHeart · 19/11/2025 14:48

Yes, I posted on another thread that I caved in & bought the Sainsbury's beauty one as it was half price (still £20 (£10 with Nectar)) more than last year which seems a bit of a rip off but I put my Nectar points towards it. Dd2 & I take turns in opening the doors & then at the end we can swap some stuff if we want to. We used pretty much all the stuff in last year's & it's good quality

Peridot1 · 19/11/2025 14:52

I got the Boots Skincare one - had enough points to get it for free as I had saved them up.

DeepfriedPizza · 19/11/2025 14:53

I got the Holland and Barrett one, It's not luxury beauty but it has more usefull things in it rather than serums etc. I used to get the M&S one and a few others but some of the stuff inside was never used.

ItsFridayIminLoveJS · 19/11/2025 14:54

I usually get the M&S one but last couple of years didn't like/ use half the items.
I love no 7 but daughters always buy me sets for Christmas and Birthdays.

beguilingeyes · 19/11/2025 14:55

There seems to be a lot that aren't sold out this year. I bought one as a Christmas present for a friend but I don't buy one for myself anymore as I hardly used any of the stuff and it just accumulates.

Plump82 · 19/11/2025 14:57

Nope. I've done them a fair few years and was fed up last year of the amount of repeat items so this year I bought a beautiful necklace which cost similar to what I'd spend on a calendar.

Labradorsmum · 19/11/2025 15:21

Also got the H & B one, not opened it yet- waiting for Dec 1st!

Evergreen21 · 19/11/2025 15:23

There is always an advent thread on style and beauty. It starts early so many people have long since picked up the ones they want. The more popular ones such as Space nk,Cult beauty, Harrods,Libery etc are sold out. Lots of brands do them now and you can watch unboxings on facebook, tik tok and Instagram and YouTube so people can take their time comparing calendars before making purchases. I tend to go for a different one every year.

I got the Holland and Barratt one for my birthday and thought it was a lovely treat.

UpMyself · 19/11/2025 15:35

I've had H&B ones in the past and loved most of the products and the price, but I didn't need anything this year.
I don't like trial sizes.

gianfrancogorgonzola · 19/11/2025 15:47

My mum bought me Liberty for my birthday. So excited, I love them and use everything up through the year!

PortSalutPlease · 19/11/2025 17:10

I usually get the M&S one but it’s twice the price this year for the same amount of stuff so I’m leaving it.

itsnothingoriginal · 19/11/2025 17:43

There are quite a few deals around but lots did sell out like H&B which is usually great value and an interesting product choice if you haven't had it previously!

I usually buy the M&S calendar but it really didn't inspire me this year especially at the higher price and ended up buying a No 7 one (although slightly regretting that as recently read the reviews which aren't great 😔)

I got Sephora Premium for DD today which was discounted. Pleased with that as she'll love it!

BeaLola · 19/11/2025 18:47

I usually buy the M@S one but didn't this year or in 2024

Previously I have bought Space Nk

I find I have lots of stuff to use up - I do subscribe to Liberty Beauty Drop and Pelegrims boxes instead

WolfieMuma · 19/11/2025 18:52

I bought Space NK. I dithered for ages, but went for it in the end. It’s so expensive, I’m not sure I can justify it again next year, especially when I saw the others get discounted.
But I’m excited. It’s such a treat.

So many took a long time to sell out. I wonder what it will mean for advents next year?

StrikeForever · 19/11/2025 18:53

I bought the M&S one. I had it on a couple of other years and enjoyed it. I didn’t buy it, or any other last year. It just didn’t do it for me and I just won’t get caught up in spending £100 + on a beauty advent calendar. This year M&S is full of things that work for me.

mrspk · 19/11/2025 19:32

No, none of them floated my boat this year. I've made my own refilling last year's Space NK calendar.

Batoutofhellish · 19/11/2025 19:33

I bought two and was very disappointed with both.

NeedWineNow · 19/11/2025 21:13

I usually get the M&S one but wasn’t taken with it this year so haven’t bothered. Their summer bag was brilliant though so I hope that next year’s is the same.

Piemam · 19/11/2025 21:28

Holland and Barrett for me also; I don't wear make up, except for very occasional lip gloss, so this was the one for me. Like @DeepfriedPizza , I find that this one will have more things I'll use than any other calender. To be frank, I've only had the M&S one or the H&B one before, owing to the lack of make up. I also have razored hair, so the hair products are of no use to me!

NormasArse · 19/11/2025 21:30

I have the Liberty one. I do the beauty drop, so save for it that way. I give a lot of the stuff to my nieces.

UpMyself · 19/11/2025 21:33

The H&B ones I've had, I picked because I liked the full size products of reliable brands that I knew I'd use, and at a good price. I'm another who doesn't want or need hair products or make-up that won't suit me.

Littleguggi · 19/11/2025 21:34

I usually do but everything feels so expensive this year, my children will also be getting a cheap chocolate one rather than a toy/ stationary one :(
