Really really comfortable and reasonably stylish walking boots

I have plantar fasciitis and I need some walking boots. They have to be very comfy but I’d like them to be stylish too! Is there such a thing? I don’t really want to spend more than £100 if possible

Do you mean literally outdoor hill walking boots or just sturdy boots for day to day?

DesperatelySeekingHelp · 18/11/2025 21:20

dog walking boots mainly. Roughly two hour walks in muddy forests, hills etc. priority is very comfortable and waterproof

I love my Scarpa Terra boots

@savvy7. I was hoping for something a little less ugly. Sorry 😞

Sorel do some fab boots IMO

Sorel boots

My go-to for dog walks and muddy pony fields in winter were woofwear short yard boots - extremely warm, waterproof, very supportive and comfortable for long-term wear. Very reasonable priced BUT they are very much not stylish!

Sorel are a good shout, could possibly find something in the sale.

Hoka walking boots.
They saved my feet when I had bad PF.
Unfortunately they're not cheap.

I think wanting to be both stylish and tough dog walking boots is a bit silly. Especially if you mean mud rather than city streets. No one else looks stylish, and a covering of mud will ruin the “look”.

Have a look at Ariat. I have had a few of these over the years. The Moreseby is waterproof but not a classic walking boot style. Wexfords are lighter. I would also look at some of the ridiing boots too. The Telluride and Terrain are like beefy trainers. all waterproof, comfortable and tough. American company so bound to be good black friday deals.

You could just look at some light duty walking boots like Merrell or Salomon. If you have foot problems you should go to a Cotswold Outdoor or somewhere like that, they will help you find some with a good fit, adjust the insoles if need be.

Stylish, depends on what that means to you. A person slipping around in mud in fashion boots or box fresh trainers never looks stylish. There are more fashionable boots like Lanx or Blundstone that would be up to tough treatment but they aren't cheap.

If you want a more horsey-set look rather than hiking boots, then maybe try a countryside store. I'd find somewhere to try on IRL rather than mail order.

I used to have plantar fasciitis. My hiking boots were always brilliantly comfortable Try Salomon hiking boots.

For daywear, I had Fitflop leather ankle boots but their current styles are very frumpy.
