Disturbia - any good?

Social media has been showing me ads for Disturbia a lot recently and I’m easily influenced… there are quite a few things I like the look of!

Are they any good as a brand? Ok quality:price? What about sizing, is it accurate based on the measurements they provide? And is the returns process ok?

Open to any suggestions of other brands with similarly swishy skirts that will go with my collection of chunky winter boots and jumpers!

If it’s useful, I’m early 40s, 5’3”, roughly size 12 but adding some winter weight around the middle like I’m going into hibernation… definitely not the young, slender, tall, willowy type who wafts around looking romantic and dramatic, but of the age where I give significantly fewer fucks about what people think as long as I feel good.

Ive had loads from there over the years with no issues.
I have a colleague whose whole wardrobe is practically Distubia.
Most of the stuff has fitted my regular size.

I'm wearing a disturbia dress at work right now. I have a few things from them and I really like them.

I love Disturbia - one of the best things is they have a "what's my size" tool where you can input your height, weight, age and build and it suggests the size to get for that garment. It's been pretty accurate for me so far.

The quality is usually fine but I always read the reviews before ordering and I don't buy things in polyester/acrylic that are going to be directly next to my skin. It doesn't matter so much for skirts or knits which will have a layer underneath. I was actually looking at a bag on there but then didn't buy it because all the reviews mentioned the same quality issue.

Fwiw, I'm 46 and although I'm not tall and willowy the beauty of the "alternative" look is that it doesn't require you to be. That might be why I have so much of their stuff!

I got a lovely black velvet dress with stars and moons on for a Halloween party last year. Got lots of compliments. I'd say their sizing is spot on, maybe even a little generous.

The few bits I've got from there are all fine, but the sizing is a bit off. One 10 I got was way too big, and another was way too small, so check the actual measurements before buying.

SilverPink · 17/11/2025 16:26

I don’t know about sizing but DD has had a few bits in the past and they always seem good quality and well made.
There’s a poster on here somewhere with the username Disturbia so maybe she’s a fan 😄

CreepingCrone · 17/11/2025 17:32

I like Disturbia for work/casual stuff. 52, size 14, and the sizing is true. I just double check that the tops and jumpers aren't cropped! Quality is variable. Some fo their knitwear looks a bit cheap and bobbles immediately. But most of the stuff is good qualitu

I’ve got my eye on the Gloriana shirt at the moment

AmusedMaker · 17/11/2025 18:16

Love them. Bought quite a few bits and all really nice.

CraftyNavySeal · 17/11/2025 18:18

I like them but it’s overpriced, def wait for the sales
