Kate is said to be wearing this polka dot tartan skirt.

I have noticed a few times that the D of Gloucester goes heavy on necklaces. It’s like she gets her suitable necklace options out of the jewellery box and the decides rather than make a decision she will just wear them all!

Big old churches/cathedrals are hard to heat usually.
Zara looks great.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 05/12/2025 23:00

That tartan skirt is hideous! The other one she has is similar but much nicer.

Maireas · 05/12/2025 23:01

Dear lord. Tartan is not enhanced by spots.
Birgitte's giving the jewellery an airing, good work. I liked her coat tonight.

Not spots but crystals. So it will sparkle. Being practical I wondered how on earth you would get it cleaned 😂

eggandonion · 05/12/2025 23:14

Birgitte has been a very reliable family member. I know the idea a few years ago was to slim down the working royals but Im sure they are glad to have help from the wider family now. Were Zaras children with her?

Indianrollerbird · 06/12/2025 00:12

Zara looks gorgeous in the photos I've seen.

Maireas · 06/12/2025 01:57

Doesn't make it any better 😕

Anne was at the Guildhall dinner for the German Chancellor and looked really lovely.

She did look lovely in her dress and her hairstyle is made for tiaras. But did you see her arrive in a fluffy black cardi with random bits of white applique? Tiara and fluffy cardi isn’t a winning combo IMO.

Sir Tim scrubs up well. He might not be a working Royal but he’s always there, quietly supporting his wife and her family, respect.

Eaumyword · 06/12/2025 07:18

I agree, Carole does look very county!
Just seen Alizee's outfit and think it is gorgeous? Being French, I think she's very chic. It's a bit bold and different and it works.
Agree with pp that Kate's best look was the white trousers ensemble.

Choux · 06/12/2025 07:32

Mary hosted a Christmas reception for the Mary Foundation’s partners at Amalienborg. The outfit has a lot going on. The necklace and cuffs seem like too much for me and I would probably have had more neutral nails if I was wearing the skirt. It would have been nice if her husband was there to support her and her foundation as he seems to not work much.

Not sure what the event is but Sonja does her best to make her order and sash disappear. Perhaps @Cassiope can critique the tablescape for us. I like the simplicity and warmth of it but I love a candle.

This looks like the House of Bruar tartan coat.

I’ve had a few things from there. Sheepskin slippers mainly! The whole family has warm fluffy slippers from HoB 😅 though I’ve also had other shoes and their woollens are good too.

I’m sure Catherine could have found a decent kilt from them. That Miu Miu skirt is dreadful. As PP said tartan is not enhanced by crystals. And the black buttons down the front look like fluffy pom-poms though I’m sure they can’t be.

Carole Middleton’s coat was lovely on her, very chic.
However I thought Alizee’s outfit was ghastly @Eaumyword

MrsLeonFarrell · 06/12/2025 08:50

I loved Catherine's coat and fur collar, except for the buttons. I don't really like big fancy buttons. I want the Duchess of Gloucester's jewellery box.

Oh dear, that's an unfortunate cardigan!

"Spain’s “British queen” could hardly have had a less auspicious start to her reign. An anarchist threw a bomb, disguised in a bouquet of flowers, at the carriage carrying Victoria Eugenia of Battenberg and her husband Alfonso XIII on the way from their wedding to the royal palace in Madrid.
Although the couple survived, 28 bystanders were killed and Queen Victoria’s granddaughter attended her marriage banquet in a blood-spattered gown."

I thought some might be interested in this article as it mentions (among many other things of interest) the fleur-de-lys tiara:

"The fleur-de-lys tiara she received for her wedding in 1906, worn later by Queen Sofía and Queen Letizia, is shown alongside the velvet and ermine mantle she used for formal state occasions."

Here's Rania, with a "bold" blue manicure.
I'm not sure about the outfit, the pinafore and spotty blouse; I also think ankle boots with a dress don't always look great.
However, as usual with Rania, hair and makeup on point.

It’s funny, I saw Alizee’s outfit and thought how chic she looked. However, if Zara had been wearing the exact same thing I am fairly sure I would have described it as ghastly!

I thought Kate was glowing yesterday at Westminster Abbey - if anyone would like to chip a couple of thousand in to get me a pair of those amazing star earrings I’d be very grateful! Less said about the sparkling tartan skirt although the red tartan skirt and black top/boots outfit that she wore several years ago is still one of my favourites.

Love Anne in her fluffy cardigan. Her dress is a vast improvement on the one earlier in the week. One of the Facebook comments suggested that she calls Charles ‘Old Bean’ which made me smile as I can just imagine it!

I suspect the guildhall is cold/draughty. Anne is ever practical. I'd be wearing long johns too.

It's much easier to look chic when you're very slim and tall. Zara is very fit and has a great figure but she's not willowy. Makes a big difference to looking chic as most people use the term.

Heh I quite like the crystal tartan skirt! Its rather fun.

AllTangledUpInTitlesTiarasAndTinsel · 06/12/2025 09:56

I didn't mind Anne's cardigan! She's posh enough for it to work. 😉

Queen Sonja wore the Maltese Star tiara (I'm not sure it's officially a tiara) for the first time in 14 years.

I like the simple floral/candle decor.

Maireas · 06/12/2025 09:57

I'm not keen on Alizee's outfit. Perhaps the coat with different trousers?

I prefer the way Alizée's suit is styled on the Sezane site, with brown boots and the coat open over a black poloneck.
