Knee high boots

I’ve seen some knee high lace up boots online. My calf is 15 inches. The boots are 14 inches. They’ve got a zip at the side and laced at the front. Would they look ok if I loosened the laces at the front to give me that extra inch?

I think that’s probably the idea of the lace - to give extra room. Bit like wedding dresses with a corset back. It might affect the aesthetic of the boot if the laces look too stretched but I’m sure they would fit. And of course the leather will probably give in time as well.

Are the laces fully functioning or just for show?
One inch expansion is a lot, so will the edges still overlap or gape open?

The laces function. But I think you’re right. 1 inch is too much of an expansion. I think I’ll give them a miss. Thanks everyone👍
