Is there a good website for mini items?

Now that DD’s are in their late teens, the cloth advent calendar I made is getting more and more expensive to fill.

As well as hand written notes and Lindt choc balls, I’m wondering about mini items/travel items but am hoping there’s a website that sells them cheaper than normal?!

Does such a place exist?

This is a genius idea op. I hope there is!

BastardtheCat · 16/11/2025 14:34

Thanks!

I’ve done it for years.

Not every pocket is costly - hand written notes, mini bars of their fav chocs and £4 tickets to our local community cinema keep it manageable but I cant stop doing it now and will probably continue the tradition until I die!!

I have so far, small shower gels from The Body Shop, pocket Vaseline, lip balms and sponge blenders. Would love to pop one or two little miniature perfumes in there as well.

this is lovely 🥰 Try vinted op I bundle buy lots of mini/sample size goodies, might be worth searching words like look fantastic, glossy box etc on there.

Cult Beauty and Sephora both have travel sized items. Not the cheapest though. Check out Boots as well, they have lots of Benefit Beauty Box with minis that you could split up.

Great idea @PuzzlingRecluse thank you x

Thanks @Plump82. i actually bought the Benefit hamper last year and split it in two for the bulk of their advent calendars. Not cheap though!!

I've just bought this sample set from upcircle. It includes a £20 voucher which I'm going to use myself as I regularly buy from them, so it's essentially free. They also do a cheaper version without the voucher. The samples are plastic sachets but upcircle say that they offset this.

I’d probably use primark for a few of the slots, they have 6 packs of nail polish for £2-3, that would be 3 of the slots filled on each calendar, a lip balm each, a pair of those gel heel pads for inside high heel shoes to make them more comfortable, they have the travel makeup/toiletries too like compact eyelash curlers and mirrors for in your handbag.

Then I’d check the ‘Star’ gift sets and Black Friday in Boots, this week they have a No 7 advent calendar down to about £40 which has 12 things in it apparently worth £160 retail value.

Zara do discovery sets with minis of some of their perfumes that could be split.

I feel you!

Agree that Christmas multi packs are a good shout - eg various brands will do 3 lip glosses, or a hand cream with a mascara or whatever.

Also, what about buying some smaller bottles they can decant their OWN favourites into? I just ordered some little mini perfume bottles for decanted stuff from Etsy? They had some really cute options at very reasonable prices.

Reusuable cleansing wipes?

Other things that aren't cosmetics:

hair ties/clips/accessories?

Socks/gloves - not sure how big your spaces are! Grin

Named mini hand santizers

Personalised key chains

Charms for a bracelet/necklace? (can be super expensive but also fairly inexpensive depending on what/where you buy)

A small jewellery pouch/bag for travelling

A small ornament

Mini candle (real or battery)

NewCushions · 17/11/2025 11:40

Also, not so glamourous, but travel sized cosmetics that are helpful? Hair spray, shampoo, body lotion etc?

BastardtheCat · 17/11/2025 19:37

Amazing!! Some things are still being used from last years calendar - the fleecy washable make up removers are fab, for instance, but I love the mini perfume bottle idea!

Notino do sample sets of big name fragrances - I've not bought those samples myself but do buy regularly from there as they stock my favourite face creams. Lots of different beauty brands too, all at good prices.

AmpleSwan · 17/11/2025 23:36

Cult beauty has a specific minis section. I woukd also recommended taking a look on Yesstyle, a lot of K beauty is very affordable and in supercute packaging/components making it very covetable.
