Ohh I'm after some brushes recommendations as my teen daughter has put "make-up brushes" on her Christmas wish list 🎄 🎅 I don't want to spend a fortune on brushes though given how expensive everything else she asked for is 🤦‍♀️

I would look at Spectrum brushes, they have some great sets in their Black Friday offers and also worth looking at the Boots £10 Tuesday offers as Real Techniques often pop up in them.

Thelifeofawife · 17/11/2025 22:20

I use Real Techniques brushes, I bought a set a couple of years ago and really liked them so thought another bigger set last year - both times they were on an Amazon deal for half price. Boots often do discounts too.

I have bought an Hourglass brush set from Vinted but I’m waiting until December to use them, so it feels more of a treat 🥰

@XelaM

The Morphe brushes are nice too. They've got this Xmas set for £29 and you should be able to use a code on your first order too.

I have also seen this set in Boots

https://uk.morphe.com/products/rebellious-6-piece-brush-tool-set

That colour is gorgeous 😍

Oh dear this week is going to be tough. I was sent early access to the BK brushes sale and almost succumbed but luckily a shit load of additional taxes to send from the US sobered me up. Not so much of a bargain when there's nearly 50 quid on top.

Good that they were transparent and it showed before buying. Iv ben caught out with that. 😪♥️

shinny · 18/11/2025 09:07

I’m so happy you said that as I checked all over and bought it on JL as I had a tiny extra 5% discount. It’s for my DD and I think she’ll love it. So great to get a little bargain!!!

shinny · 18/11/2025 09:11

RTHJ14 · 17/11/2025 12:37

I’m going to get a chain for it and give it to my daughter in the hope she stops borrowing my other bags!

Unless I love it too much of course.. xx

I need to do the same so could you please update re what chain you get so I can shamelessly copy you??? 🙏

LoveLabradors · 18/11/2025 10:09

Oh that Elizabeth Scarlett bag is stunning! 😬. I do not need anymore make up bags! I must not. But oh £50 and I love giraffes nearly as much as cheetahs!

LoveLabradors · 18/11/2025 10:14

I bought it 😬🤣

IlovePond · 18/11/2025 10:41

Hi, I have bought too much from CB recently and am suffering a bit of buyer’s remorse. It might make me feel better if I can get some points for reviewing purchases.

Does anyone know if CB have to invite you to do reviews to get points or can you just review via the site?

I used to get a lot of points via LF reviews but now you have to be invited to do them, and I never am.

Thanks

Finally found something worth buying with the cult beauty £15 'gift card', they have restocked the cult beautu xglow beauty edits which don't discount with any other codes. Added something for £6, £26 delivered for my teen daugher.

keepincool · 18/11/2025 10:46

I purchased the Jo Malone Fragrant Festivities Collection with my £15 CB voucher - bringing it down to £75. Still not cheap, but I wanted to try JM Ginger Biscuit - which I love, so worth it for me. I also tried the Midnight Musk and Amber last night, which is another winner.

I managed to get another £15 voucher with my purchase so will probably use that in the sales.

IlovePond · 18/11/2025 10:51

@keepincool - when I tried to use my £15 voucher against reduced stuff, it took the money off the original price.

This may change/maybe it was just me, but I thought it was a bit cheeky of CB.

That’s a good deal @psuedocream3 - I am a bit annoyed with myself - I have just bought two of the GR things to try from CB - I should have held off - this would have been a much better bargain!

keepincool · 18/11/2025 10:56

"when I tried to use my £15 voucher against reduced stuff, it took the money off the original price."

That's not ideal - I did note that it didn't seem to work for some people on the thread so chose the JM set as no codes seem to work for that brand, but thankfully the voucher did.

LoveLabradors · 18/11/2025 10:57

I’m have cult beauty gold status and am supposed to get a £25 voucher for my bday this month but no sign of it. I contacted CS and they said to check junk mail which it wasn’t in and given that I have to receive their endless daily tedious promo emails to get said birthday voucher, there was no reason to think it is in junk. They just said it might come soon. Wasn’t very impressed to be honest. There are some good aspects to cult beauty but I’ve had this before with their alleged gift card deals where they haven’t worked. So we shall see if it turns up!

psuedocream3 · 18/11/2025 11:04

To be honest I wouldn't have bothered with the £15 gift card offer if I knew it wasnt a gift card but a discount code. Sorry, it was the Cult Beauty x Glow Recipe edit £35 worth £95. @IlovePond I feel your pain, I've been looking on there all week wondering what I could use the voucher on, to be honest it's really put me off using them in future. @LoveLabradors I dont think they've ever sent me the birthday codes, I hope you manage to get it sorted, that's a big chunk of credit to not be sent!

BakeOffRewatch · 18/11/2025 11:19

Cult Beauty is great when everything goes fine. Totally awful if you need their Customer Service. Then only going to TrustPilot gets you anywhere. I am gold level too the birthday voucher comes with a minimum spend so it no better than their 25% deal windows for gold members.

JoRaRaRa · 18/11/2025 11:51

LoveLabradors · 18/11/2025 10:14

I bought it 😬🤣

I like how it took you 5 minutes to see it, like it, buy it 💁🏻‍♀️😍

LoveLabradors · 18/11/2025 12:12

Well I’m not holding my breath for a birthday bonanza from cult beauty then!

TheCryingTheBitchAndTheFloordrobe · 18/11/2025 15:48

Oh lord those Morphe brushes are so gorgeous I'll never be able to resist them!

psuedocream3 · 18/11/2025 16:14

Asos have 25% off code through the app today which works with the edits, christmas gifts and crackers. Code is... APP25

Gowlett · 18/11/2025 16:17

That Jarrolds Bag… Niiiiice! But, UK delivery only.
Nowhere near as fancy, but I got the free Boots bag.

In-store, they had a few options. None of them great.
Last minute, I spied one with four very nice items!

Essie Birthday Girl nail polish
e.f.f Halo Glow Beauty Wand
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mini
Rimmel Butter Me Up Gloss

And a lovely pink make-up bag (for my collection!)
Free with Sculpted By Aimee Cream Cushion.

CB have a Glow Recipe edit. I'm sure they did one in spring which I think I bought. Don't think this one is great but it is only £35

https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/p/beauty-box/cult-beauty-x-glow-recipe-edit-rosy-glow-worth-over-95/16569612/

It’s the same. Got an email saying it’s back in stock.

MathsFiend · 18/11/2025 18:19

I crumbled for Charlotte Tilbury. I got sent a birthday gift from CT of a perfume set which I could redeem with any spend. It's worth £130, so I bought the mini make-up brushes set for £45 and got the perfume. Hopefully it's nice! It's called Joyphoria. I" ll have to get into CT to have a sniff and decide whether tk keep it or gift it.

Some greater deals on CT at the moment if you're wanting to stock up. Lots of discounts and buy 1 get 1 free, plus free gifts if you spend so much. I didn't bother trying to spend enough for the free gifts as they are mostly things I've had before. But good for presents etc.
