Just when I thought I’d finished shopping DD has slid in with a request for this type of look (pic). It would really suit her but I’m not sure where to start. It looks a bit like Clinique Black Honey but more opaque to me and maybe with a lip oil over it. Anyone got any bright ideas on colours that fit the bill?

It doesn’t have to be fancy, can just be a stocking filler.

Possibly benetint or something similar, with an oil or gloss on top. It looks like a stain of some sort with a high shine

TragicMuse · 02/12/2025 13:46

Sorry, I know this has been covered but can’t find it!

Who has the best fragrance tester sets and kits? Around £50, or with codes and discounts? My nephew wants to buy scent for his mum!

Try the Fwee glosses. They do 70% which is more pigmented and 30% which is more sheer.

I have a couple and they are nice.

I don't think the Fwee Amazon store has the full range of colours you can get on Yesstyle or other korean sites but maybe better time wise.

I know a lot of people here sell on their unwanted beauty products so I was hoping to get opinions. I'm finally going through my unused makeup (I have just been putting it in a box) I want to try and sell some, I have a few different trinny lip2cheek shades. Would I be better of selling together or seperately?

Where are you selling? If Vinted I would put them on separately as sometimes people are looking for one shade. You can also allow bundles if someone wants to buy more than one.

I mostly list everything separately then things that haven't sold within a few weeks I take the listings down and do a bundle at a cheap price just to shift those items.

I was planning to use Ebay, I've had some bad experiences on both sides of vinted and am a bit wary of it now

I don't sell often on Ebay so not sure how the 'market' is there. If you have the patience and time to list and send separately I'm guessing you'll make more money (if they sell). If you just want to get rid quickly then maybe put on as a reasonably priced bundle.

Thank you. I think I'd rather they went quickly rather than waiting so I think I'll try a bundle

What sort of price range?

Edit: D'oh, idiot! It's in the OP.

I'll get back to you... you might also want to ask on the Perfumistas thread.

Around £60-£80 I think.

Ohjoyohbliss · 02/12/2025 15:35

@TragicMuse The Cult Beauty Little Luxury Scents Christmas stocking is still on sale for a bargain price, well under budget and those of us who have it, like it.

This Sephora one looks like good value. I'm tempted myself now.

Heads up for those interested. The CB Ouai Edit £45 goes on sale tomorrow.

I feel like this one will sell out quickly.
Edit to add - don't forget to try the usual codes BDCB / BDAY15 / ANNIIECB just in case.

Leave In Conditioner (travel size; 45ml)
Enriched with nutrient-rich amino acids, nourishing vitamin E and strengthening hydrolysed proteins, this featherweight treatment won't weigh your hair down as it helps to detangle and ward against damage.
Detox Shampoo (travel size; 89ml)
A once-a-week treatment, this gentle formula boasts apple cider vinegar to help cut through product build-up and neutralise shine-compromising hard water deposits, while hydrolysed keratin works to support brittle, heat-weakened lengths.
St. Barts Scalp & Body Scrub (travel size; 96.4g)
Inspired by its sun-drenched namesake, this scrub gently clarifies both skin and scalp while enveloping you with its mood-boosting fragrance. Powered by sugar crystals, it sloughs away scales while infusing your skin with conditioning coconut oil - the ultimate reset for skin, scalp and senses.
St. Barts Body Cleanser (travel size; 89ml)
This nourishing body wash is enriched with soothing jojoba seed and ultra-moisturising rosehip oils to leave skin feeling soft and supple, while the brand's signature St. Barts scent - bursting with notes of dragon fruit, orange blossom, tuberose and musk - invites you to relax and recharge.
Hair Oil (travel size; 13ml)
Ultra-hydrating and divinely scented, this floral-infused formula softens, shines and strengthens strands with African galanga oil (to boost hair health), and a blend of ama oil and Asian borage oils to 'shrink wrap' strands and shield against humidity.
Anti-Frizz Crème (travel size; 89ml)
A lightweight treatment that tames flyaways, protects from heat damage and reduces split ends, this smoothing crème relies on squalane oil to polish and protect your strands prior to styling.

I like Ouai products , I’ve been disappointed by the frizz cream though. The hair oil is good though and I’d like to try the body scrub so swings and roundabouts..

This is awesome! How do you find the Boots and JL online advent calendars? I can't seem to see these

lookonthebrightside0 · 03/12/2025 07:18

I love Ouai products but unfortunately they don’t like me. Every time I’ve tried the hair products my scalp becomes really itchy

TreesinthePark · 03/12/2025 07:41

Thabks for the geads up @OvaHere
I like the Ouai products that I've tried but this edit has products that are too small in my opinion. And the conditioner is half the size of the shampoo, it will do anout one wash!

CB edits seem to be much better value when they're multi brand.

IlovePond · 03/12/2025 07:47

Morning all.

That CB edit looks nice - sadly none of those codes worked for me.

@XelaM - the JL online advent is in
Rewards - but I had to update my app for it to appear!

The Boots advent seems to move around the page. Today it took me by surprise by opening as soon as I opened the app 😹 but when I looked again later it was under the Load More Offers section. Today’s offering is £10 of points when buying a no7 Star Gift.

Yes it's a shame it's travel sizes. A nice gift for someone to try out the brand.

I like the St Barts scent but a lot of the products are just okay. I've got a full size S&C that I haven't finished off using, the product is okay but I find the bottles really hard to squeeze.

The travel bottle of leave in conditioner does last longer than you might think but it's not my favourite. I prefer the Davines one and the Color Wow one.

I do like the Ouai Curl Spray and Thickening spray but neither of those are in this set.

Spoke to Escentual they have THE BEST customer services, they would have immediately replaced the PDM but alas it is sold out, but they are replacing the eyeliners and doing a refund. Didn't even need to wait to speak to DPD etc. Gutted the PDM has sold out as it was such a good deal but maybe a sign from the perfume gods to calm it??

IDontHateRainbows · 03/12/2025 09:27

Sorry meant that for the perfumista thread, although it's still relevant to this thread as a lot of people have bought off escentual
