I have another £5 voucher for CB which is tempting me to buy the Ouai detox shampoo while 30% off. I keep thinking i should wait it out, because come the weekend they will do extra discount/free gift.
Also waiting for SNK to follow with better discount as i want a few products from them that CB dont stock.

@IlovePond ooh nice, does it smell good? There was a Deciem (NIOD, The Ordinary) brand called Hair Is Fabric, which changed my view of haircare, it’s dead once it’s sprouted so little you can do to materially change it with shampoo and other surface products. You could have your bloods done, see if there’s something you’re deficient in recently, and I think fatty food like salmon and other fish, avocado, help to grow thicker hair - caveat that’s my opinion.

@BakeOffRewatch it’s the Act + Acre shampoo. I don’t expect for one minute it will genuinely increase my hair quantity/growth, (certainly not at the rate I can afford to use it), but it makes my hair so soft and glossy:

https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/p/act-acre-stem-cell-shampoo-for-hair-thinning-and-growth-295ml/14912085/?

My hair recently has taken a turn for the worse, and I am trying different products to see if there is any improvement. I’m open to suggestions, (preferably cheaper than this one), if anyone has any recommendations for hair growth/repair/strengthening products!

Edited

I actually do have a couple of suggestions as my hair suddenly went dreadful a couple of years ago: brittle, frizzy and refused to grow. I started taking Nutrition Geeks Biotin growth + and Activ Gums Marine Collages Gummies and it’s made a massive, massive difference and my curly hair grew from above my shoulders to bra strap length now.

I also used the Kitsch rice water bar shampoo for a whileand it may have helped slightly but I really disliked it. I use a Davine’s hair mask about once a month.

And reappeared 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks for the tips @TheCryingTheBitchAndTheFloordrobe - I love your username btw!

How do you find taking gummies? I’m always a bit scared of taking supplements but I know a lot of people swear by them.

Thanks

It was use of the 'G' word I think

IlovePond · 27/11/2025 14:53

Good grief @keepincool 😹 - is it a ‘rude’ word? Is there some meaning I am missing? I’m always the last to know these things!

Ha ha they think we're being wayyyy more naughty than we are.

Tbh I was 100% skeptical of supplements, but was also quite desperate. I found once I'd persevered for 3-6 months or so, things started improving quite suddenly. Both of the ones I take I get from Amazon and they have good ratings. The chewy ones are tasty (I just take 1 per day) and the Biotin pills are teeny tiny and I take 2 per day.

It's automatically hidden - reasons are:

"...because we get a huge amount of spam about [G-word]. We have this tool to ensure we can review posts before they are published."

@IlovePond not a 'product', but I swear by the Denman shower brush. It's kind of a scalp massager, but been around a lot longer, and I think better than any scalp massager I've tried. I originally tried it to help work conditioner through my long hair in the shower, which it is great for - but it has also been amaaaaazing for my scalp health! I never get dandruff now, and my hair grows really fast.

Boots - often on offer, but not at the minute. LF have it on sale 😆 https://www.boots.com/denman-shower-and-massage-brush-10121990
(BTW I've found the handle can pop out sometimes, I just put a couple of drops of superglue to prevent that)

I agree with other posters - there's a limit to what you can do to hair directly, but a healthy scalp and the right food/vitamins can make a big difference.

Watching now for specific gummy and vitamin recommendations 😁

I use that Ouai detox shampoo, and I've been surprised how much I love it! I've generally stick with cheaper 'clarifying' shampoos, but got the Ouai one in a offer somewhere, and will definitely keep buying it now. I don't need much, and only use once a week, so a bottle lasts ages, and I'm really impressed how well it cleans my hair, but without feeling like it's been completely stripped/dry etc.

Off to stalk CB and other sites for a good offer...

BakeOffRewatch · 27/11/2025 15:13

I think the healf AC had some stuff https://healf.com/products/the-healf-advent-calendar-2025?variant=46867309625583 sold out now but just noticed one of the items is colostrum!?

IlovePond · 27/11/2025 15:28

@Mejera @keepincool @TheCryingTheBitchAndTheFloordrobe and @BakeOffRewatch - thanks guys - will check out the recommendations.

I couldn’t resist the 30% off at Cult Beauty and have ordered one of the fragrance stockings.

SmashingGemini · 27/11/2025 17:19

Any advice on which is the best CB stocking to go for? Are the fragrances nice?

Lurkingshark · 27/11/2025 17:24

@SmashingGemini @ the fragrances are nice- they are vanilla, skin scents, something a bit fancier. It’s a total bargain and I’m tempted to get another one but it’s so unnecessary!

tiktok5 stacks for 5% off

I bought the fragrance, makeup and haircare stockings and would say that the fragrance one is the best one. They're lovely perfumes and decent sizes. It's reduced to £21 now and it's such a steal! I know that at least 2 of the bottles sell for over £30 each 😁

JoRaRaRa · 27/11/2025 17:43

My £15 voucher well and truly burnt a hole in my pocket 🤣 I ended up going for the guerlain healthy glow foundation. I received a sample of it at the hbeauty event and really liked it but it's expensive. With 30% off and my £15 voucher, I couldn't resist 😍 I was tempted to get the highlighter pearls, but I have my really shimmery dior holiday one, I don't need another yet.

SmashingGemini · 27/11/2025 17:48

Thanks @Lurkingshark and @JoRaRaRa
I’ll definitely get the fragrance one and maybe one other!

Yeah, it's a fab deal although the perfumes aren't worth much for reselling as ebay/vinted flooded.

I love the vanilla haze and will probably gift the rest for little christmas presents. The molecule 01 is unisex so would feel ok giving it to a man .
