Vinted and fake items - Sezane

Has anyone ever successfully got Vinted to remove sellers selling fake items?

I noticed recently that a lot of Sezane cardigans were being listed that just didn't look right. The style and colours were not in keeping with Sezane. I took screenshots and when you image search them its clear they have never been sold by Sezane. Went onto the profiles and people who have bought the items are leaving negative reviews. I reported the sellers and Vinted just come back with their community rules have not been breached.

Just a moan and a warning really. I find it frustrating as I have bought and sold lovely genuine items on Vinted and hate the thought of scammers getting away with this!

It is the same with Birkenstocks on Vinted. I would say that 90% of Bostons and most Arizonas are fakes. They are always listed between £50-£60 new with tags. Some look like quite good fakes, but most are not if you know the brand.

The colourful/patterned background thing is to stop Vinted's dimwit AI picking up multiple and duplicate listings. A seller will have many seller accounts and use a different background set for each one.

I got caught with the Bostons. The snidey little git posted actual Birks, his page was full of random stuff, not lots of the same. They came and really werent. But he blocked me so I couldn't say no, is not ok. Contacted Vinted they said, we've logged it, don't worry, don't complain again. So the 48 hrs pass, they have done fuck all so the payment goes through and he gets automatic positive. Can't do charge back as you need expert confirmation that its snide. And the fuckers are the wrong size. Im sticking to used from now on.

I was looking at ganni T-shirts …. There’s hundreds all new with a suspiciously low price .
Vinted customer service does not exist and they seem very unbothered about the fakes .
I am now wondering about an adanola sweatshirt I bought …
I think Vinted is best avoided for higher end . Stick to the “normal” sellers who have worn stuff and are selling .

Yes, the danger lies with particularly “on trend” or desirable items/brands.

i have successfully bought real Sezane items on Vinted but they have been items I recognize and could satisfy myself that they were not fake.

Hi OP, no, I reported many vinted sellers flogging fakes. Not one has been removed.

A few years ago ebay was ok with removing fakes. Now their system also refuses to remove any.

Both systems have a financial incentive in facilitating black market goods sales (illegal counterfeits and stolen goods) and appear to have chosen money over legality.
