By the end of the school day today I was limping around the classroom.. in ‘sensible’ Clarks loafers. We’re not allowed trainers or open toes, have to be smart office wear style. TMI - feet - but I’ve got corns on the toes next to my little toes that pinch and are so painful by the end of the day. I’ve never had to wear wide fit but could try? High-ish insteps, one foot weaker from a sports injury. I cannot find shoes that don’t leave me in pain. HELP!!

If it’s due to the corns you could try silicon toe separators - I have to use them with some shoes as one little toe rubs its neighbour up wrong way.

Fitflops - I have two pairs - biker boot style and am in foot heaven

You need shoes with laces. Your toes need to work to keep slip-on shoes like loafers on your feet. Lace-ups allow your toes to rest when you are not walking, and to move more naturally when you are walking.

DMs with a supportive orthotic and wool socks work for me. I don’t know whether DMs are good for high insteps, but something along those lines shoes work for you.

You have an injury, you need to wear appropriate footwear like comfortable trainers, there is absolutely nothing they can do to stop you wearing them. Surely this comes under reasonable adjustments?

I also say fitflops. Perfect for school. I have a pair of boots (about 6 years old) and a pair of ballet flats.
I also have Doc Marten Mary Janes. They seem to live forever!
