What to wear to Teatro Massimo for new years concert?

Hello All,

I'm escaping to Palermo for new years break and have tickets for the new years concert at the opera.

I have no idea what to wear.

I want to look and feel good and like I fit in.

I'm 5ft6 - Size 6/8 depending on brands - small but okay boobs 32C - don't like my tummy - okay legs but very wide arse and hip dips. Small waist.

Dark frizzy hair currently half way between a pixie and a bob so I will likely pin it up. Blue eyes.

I'm fine wearing high heels (even on the paving stones)

Budget of circa 200€ - obviously very happy to spend less and open to vinted/second hand - also open to spend more if it's something I really really love and could style in different ways to be able to wear through out the year.

International brands better or brands that deliver to EU as I'm not in the UK.

Have attached photos of my silhouette/shape.

Open to all of your ideas.

Merci Beaucoup!

Your sparkliest most bedazzling long dress. Hair up and dangly earrings. People bring out the family jewels even for normal opera events.
A warm faux fur for after-theatre street parties.
It doesn’t have to be branded, but red is supposed to bring good luck.
Count on partying hard until at least 3 in the morning.

Thankyou! The concert is on the first of Jan not the 31st so I don't think we'll be out till 3 ....
Full on sparkle then? I'll start looking

H&M have some nice things in their Christmas section. DD bought a full-on silver sequin dress there but it was spaghetti straps. Maybe a bit more coverage for the theatre.

I'm a bit lost, normally when I dress up I just grab a longish dress from my wardrobe and accesorize. I have a lot of good day dresses, and a lot of Little black dresses, but I don't really do "party" or "sparkles"...

Do you have any vintage stores near you? Check there. You could find something dressy enough and unique.

I wore a gold lace vintage dress to the opera a few times and was not out of place.

I like the one from Coast. Seems perfect for the occasion

Yes I was there in April for Cosi fan Tutte and there were some fiercely dressed up Palermitans there. Long shimmery dresses, high heels, sparkly jewellery and dare I say it, more than a hint of Botox. Then there were tourists like me, trying to look elegant by throwing on a jacket, and fooling no one.

To be honest I saw Faust last night at théâtre des Champs Elysées in a hoody and jeans .. which is more of my normal style …
but I’ll try the Coast dress!
