Teflon tights?

I have no idea if its just me but every time I wear a skirt or a dress with black opaque tights, they cling to the tights, wrapping around my legs or riding up them. I'm wondering if anyone knows of such a thing as "non-stick" tights to avoid this problem? I have so many skirts and dresses I want to wear but can't because of this. I hope it's not just me! Thanks

Yes, me too. I have a wool rich pair which don't cause static.
I've also tried rubbing inside of skirt or dress with the tumble dryer sheets or sprayed hairspray but only works for a short time and my skin is sensitive to use too much.
Hoping someone else has the answer!

Some kind of anti-static spray or a silk slip? No it’s not just you I get that as well.

I thin you need to washyour tights in fabric conditioner. Or, go the old fashioned way and wear a petticoat.

It's not just me! I'll try the fabric conditioner idea.
I don't think wearing a petticoat under a denim skirt is gonna work sadly (also feels like it's yet another garment to bunch up round my bum). Tights manufacturers really need to get onto this!

When I said 'petticoat' I didn't mean a circular frilly 1950s thing, I meant what is now often referred to as a slip. M and S do 'culotte slips' in nylon, and Suzanne Charles do them in cotton. An unlined skirt always hangs better if it has a petticoat.

Wear a slip

WrinklesShminkles · 09/11/2025 17:49

The M&S culotte slips are great for ths problem.

I get this when I wear unlined skirts and dresses, a silk or satin slip does the trick. It's annoying how many things aren't lined anymore.
