Hi all, long time lurker of the beauty and advent calendar threads! I built up a big stash in 2021, but didn't buy too much more until last year when I started getting interested in fragrance, and then built my stash back up with edits and advent calendars so that i could try new things. I'm looking to get it under control again and keep track of what I use up, and see others opinions on certain items.

I was wondering if anyone has tried any powder style dry shampoos? I recently tried the Briogio Dry Shampoo Puff which is really good, but I was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations? My daughter (18 months) had a hand operation in December and I couldn't bathe her properly so the dry shampoo powder came in very handy. She'll likely need another operation or 2 so I know I'll potentially need more, but the Briogio is only available at Notino so I either stock up on that or see if I can find another option.

Thanks for any help!

2 more empties hare
Elemis frangipani body lotion from QVC 2024 offer. This was too strong for me so won’t rp, glad to finish it!

Supergoop glowscreen spf30, bought off Vinted from SpaceNK 2024 advent, loved this, easy to apply and gives my face a bit of a glow. Already repurchased!
4/100

LightandBreezy · 14/01/2026 16:44

@2025istheyeari I've got the k18 dry shampoo but haven't tried it yet, will update when I do. Wishing all the best to you and your daughter, that sounds tough for you both.

RoseTeaLady · 14/01/2026 16:49

@LondonToSurrey2024
All the best for your little one. Can recommend both Living Proof and Klorane dry shampoos.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 14/01/2026 17:04

@2025istheyeari I have that Supergoop glow screen but have only used it on holidays. Didn’t think of using it here in the dull UK, might have to dig it out again!

Doglover73 · 14/01/2026 18:09

Dont know what happened to my notes lower down 🤣
It wont let me edit x

LightandBreezy · 14/01/2026 21:26

Sorry that was meant for @LondonToSurrey2024

Used up a mini (8ml) of Sunday RIley Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment. I really liked this, it lasted ages as I only used it two nights per week but that was sufficient. I would repurchase but not immediately as I currently have several other exfoliating serums/treatments (including the lactic acid version of this) in the stash.

TragicMuse · 15/01/2026 10:38

Confirmed finish on the Mary & May BlackBerry Ibedone (?) cream.

I opened a sachet of Erborian red pepper pulp this morning and aim to get 2 uses from it. It’s really nice, light texture, pleasant smell. And my face feels good! Could be a rebuy at a later date.

4 finished this year so far.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 15/01/2026 10:51

Oh I love the Erborian red pepper pulp!

ITookYourJoob · 15/01/2026 13:48

Benefit Pore Professional face wash - this it probably for younger skin, a bit alcohol-y, but otherwise fine.

Lancome serum - forever repeat.

Perfect by Marc Jacobs - clean and boring. Won’t rp.

Milk lip oil - down to my last 2. They are nice but why did I buy so many?!

Davines shampoo - nop. Really irritated my scalp.

Aloe Vera eye patches - got these during Amazon prime. Bit meh.

Frank body lotion - actually really nice- smells light, not sticky and great packaging.

Honey Halo - love this one. It is very different from “active” creams. Soothing and pleasant to use.

Sol de Janeiro body butter - not my favourite but good enough.

It cosmetics confidence in a cream - I think their makeup is far better than skincare.

Urban Decay quickie concealer- a bit too thick, too much work to blend it in. The finish was flawless though.

Molton Brown shower gel - not my favourite scent but consistency is very good.

@DidILeaveTheGasOn Try shaving (carefully) with a men’s single blade razor and instead of shaving foam, use cheap & nasty hair conditioner. (Then something hypoallergenic like LRP but go for a lotion, not heavy cream/body butter.) Also pay attention to when it gets itchy. Is it the shaving or the growing out that makes it itchy? Hibicleanse is brilliant to shave with if you get ingrowns, etc.
@Caggie09 Love that sunscreen!

dayslikethese1 · 16/01/2026 09:09

Sent some makeup to a friend. Things that were barely used but didn't work for me, she said she'd take. So what's left is all stuff I can use. Now all I have to do is not buy any more! Couple empty lipglosses (1 mini size).

dayslikethese1 · 16/01/2026 09:11

I think I have 9 lipglosses/lipsticks remaining which seems excessive.

dayslikethese1 · 16/01/2026 09:41

I just did an overall count: 41 beauty/skin products and 46 makeup products. Not sure how bad that is but it looks a lot written down. Doesn't include shower gel or shampoo/conditioner as I just use 1 at a time, whatever is in the shower.

I’ve got over 70 lipsticks so I really wouldn’t worry if I were you!

Experiment627 · 16/01/2026 17:08

Oh my goodness! The return back from Christmas has been brutal and lots of things have fallen by the wayside, including this beloved thread. I hope I do get the opportunity to read through what I have missed!

So far, I saw that the HAMAZING @Francestein has shared her font of knowledge with us - THANK YOU!

I am very sorry to all the newbies that have joined that I have not yet welcomed to the thread: WELCOME!

I have some empties to report:

  • Bioderma Atoderm SOS Spray - my second one of these. Very good but quite expensive so I am trying an alternative on my itchy skin.
  • Dr Organic rose otto deodorant: meh and a bit messy
  • Amazon extra strong denture cleaning tablets: very inexpensive & do the job

Right so I got to page 22/23 of the chat...

When I originally hijacked this thread back in 2015 it had a focus on trying to reduce hoarding tendencies. That said we have always given our feedback - so that when we do have to/want to RP something we can make better choices.

I really want this to be a safe space for beauty product addicts.

Over the years of being on this thread I have successfully managed to get my stash down - the only blackhole I still have is with make-up. BTW I only managed to get down the stash cos I followed a long held dream which involves completely legitimising my addiction AND I also now give stuff away, a lot (my SIL and a friend willingly take stuff off me, plus I send stuff to another friend who then makes up care kits for a women's shelter).

Please can we all be friends again? Or in less desperate terms - this is the intro to this thread:

Every time I think I've found all my lip balms, I find another in a pocket/bag/desk drawer @dayslikethese1

I've given up counting, my ambition now is just to finish one!!

TragicMuse · 16/01/2026 17:39

I noticed my work-pencil-case lip balm is getting low and will need replacing soon. I have about 10 in reserve.

Mackemlass79 · 16/01/2026 18:11

Hi again ladies and a belated Happy New Year to u all. I keep falling off this thread and and hsve had a bit if a rough time health wise lately so have had other things to contend with. I have given myself a talking to

LightandBreezy · 16/01/2026 19:08

Has anyone tried the Tatcha Silk Peony eye cream and the Tatcha Brightening eye cream? If so which was your preference?

TragicMuse · 17/01/2026 11:01

Another empty!

I haven’t often used body scrubs but I like them when I do. I didn’t even mind that weird coffee one from beauty drop a few years ago!

This was nice, did a fairly ok job at getting rid of the HRT patch rings on my leg! And now it’s GONE!

5 down…

Ilikeyoursleeves · 17/01/2026 11:32

I have 5 empties to report from this week!

Fenty Skin eye cream- I feel like I’ve had this forever but to be fair I barely used it. Made a conscious effort to use my stash over the past few months so eye cream is now a habit. This was good but TBH can’t really notice much difference?? I’ve now moved on to using Augustine’s Bader eye cream that I got in the recent Liberty AC and I LOVE that one. Makes my skin feel so smooth and soft!

Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin perfume 9ml, one of my fave scents and I have the full size bottle of this one too.

Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia body lotion. I thought this felt really thin for a luxury brand. Doubt I would spend Jo Malone prices on body lotion although I love their perfume and hand creams.

Murad eye patches. First time using eye patches!! This was from an AC years ago and I found them a faff to put on and I cant see any difference, what’s meant to happen?!!

Gruum melting sleep butter- you drop this in your bath and it melts into an oil. I didn’t like this at all and I felt like I was in a bath of fat globules like you get when you steep a roasting dish after making a Sunday roast lol 🤣

Ilikeyoursleeves · 17/01/2026 11:33

Forgot the photo!!
