Last empties of 2025
Votary nutrient cream light- wouldn't rp this as it wasn't moisturising enough.
Sunday Riley A+ high dose retinoid serum- this was ok, didn't see much of improvement in my skin.
Juliette has a gun lust for sun- I didn't like this, I'm so glad it's finished.
Voduz illuminating conditioner- smelt lovely, too heavy for my hair though.
Sisley ecological compound- smelt lovely and was nice on the skin, not sure what it actually did though.
M&S nectar and passionfruit perfume- didn't like this one.
Clinique moisture surge- love this and have already rp.

92/100 almost made my target. I'm on a no buy this year apart from my liberty beauty box. I'm also going on holiday and will probably buy myself something from duty free.

I really should do an inventory of all the products I have but I don't want to face the numbers of that just yet 🤦‍♀️

Holy Moly you guys have been chatty! I will go back and read the messages when I get a mo, for now, two empties to report:

  • Dermol 500 lotion: prescribed, not sure you can buy. Ok but too lightweight for my needs
  • Aveeno cream moisturising cream: have this on prescription - really soothing and also ok on Lady Garden area

Hi Everyone,
I’m away for a couple of weeks, so I can’t do an inventory.
I have listed my most turned-to products for 2025, though. Because people are interested in K&J Beauty, do you want me to share the list? Maybe elaborate a bit and explain why I like these products over other ones lurking in my stash? Let me know… I don’t want to come across as a know it all.

Yes please. And I would consider you a guru rather than a know it all 😁

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 02/01/2026 09:31

Yes please @Francestein !

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 02/01/2026 09:41

Please can somebody give me permission to chuck what I believe is an expired vitamin C serum that's made my chin break out?

And along the same lines, I have some make up brushes that I never use. I bought Spectrum brushes over the past couple of years and vastly prefer them because they're pretty. Can I get rid of the plain Janes?

I just joined the waitlist for the brush here https://www.beautylish.com.

keepincool · 02/01/2026 10:00

Another plea to share your K&J beauty findings @Francestein - I've purchased a few K-beauty edits this year and have quite a stash to start using.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 02/01/2026 10:44

Re my previous post on the New Year make up brush at Beautylish - Never mind - found out how they make squirrel hair make up brushes... Poor little squirrels.

OvaHere · 02/01/2026 10:51

@DidILeaveTheGasOn throw the Vit C. If you hate something and/or it causes a reaction then to my mind that's grounds for the bin. I want to use my stuff up productively but I'm not going to be a martyr to it. My aim is to use up stuff and enjoy so as a minimum requirement something has to be okay for the purpose. I'm fine with using just meh products but if I hate them, it's a no.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 02/01/2026 11:22

I threw out my face mask that’s gone off today! I googled it and it even has new packaging now, I’m sure I got it in an advent calendar about 4 or 5 years ago 😳 Felt good to chuck it!

Had a shower this morn and used loads of my new AC things, I’m going to make a point of using things like body lotion etc that I always forget about

outofideas2 · 02/01/2026 12:16

Last year I made a New Year's resolution to wear perfume everyday - I had quite a stash - and now I put some on automatically. I now have a stash of lip products (thanks Spack NK advent!) and my daughter said that maybe 2026 is the year I wear lipstick every day. Eventually I will become the sophisticated woman I know is hiding inside me...

Francestein · 02/01/2026 13:26

Here Goes: 2025 favourites!!!
HAIR CARE
Tsubaki Premium Volume & Repair Shampoo & Conditioner. (Yellow bottle). I pretty much use only this now.
Tsubaki Hair Mask - Love this one. Doesn’t weigh my hair down.

These are all great treatments for my fine, blonde hair. (A wee bit heat damaged, bit not too bad considering how often I get hair cut - 2x a year max.)
Kundal Protein Bonding Treatment Mask
Kundal No Wash Protein Bonding Treatment (pea-sized amount rubbed through fingers and spread through from ears down, before putting hair up in a microfiber towel.) Currently using Violet & Muget scent. It’s nice!
Hair+ Protein Bond Ampoule - same kind of leave-in. Loved the Woody Blanche scent but of course it’s discontinued. Will get peach next.
Hair+ Protein Bond Water Essence - I spritz this through my hair immediately before detangling and heat styling.
OdiD Hair Oul.. Woodfig Scent. To die for.

BODY PRODUCTS
APLB - gutathione niacinamide body lotion. Brightening and unscented. My skin loves these products.
APLB - Retinol, Bitamin C, Vitamin E body lotion - brightening and firming
APLB - Collagen EGF Peptide Body Wash
Naturium The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Wash Lovely light shower oil That emulsifies beautifully.
Bioderma Atoderm Huilde de Douche a bit thicker and probably more effective

Heimish Mandarine Cleansing balm
APRILSKIN Carotene IPMP Hydramelt Cleansing Balm

TirTir Milky Essence The Goat
Numbuzin PDRN toner loved this
TirTir Ceramic Skin Serum The Goat’s baby brother
Numbuzin NAD serum - loved

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Cream when it’s hot and humid

Re:Blue Balancing Cream-in-Mist surprised how much I love this, plus it’s pretty sky blue
Cica Deer Mist Lotion - in a giant can. Cooking mist I keep in the car
Elixir Glow Mist
Etude Nymph Aura Volumer - primer for glass skin. Works so well if only a tiny bit applied.

paristotokyo · 02/01/2026 14:01

Ooh that was fun to read @Francestein, thanks for sharing! Quite a few of the products I’m familiar with and agree they are lovely. I was looking for some body products actually, so some good suggestions there.

Caggie09 · 02/01/2026 15:32

Thought i would do a quick inventory on my bodycare and perfumes. This is what i really want to work on this year, as i find it's what i buy the most of. It's also my favourite part of my whole routine.
A nice body cream and a spritz of perfume really perks me up and sets me up for the day.

Body cream = 38
Body oil = 4
Bath = 7
Scrubs= 14
Shower gel = 32😮

Perfume
Samples= 15
Mini= 15
10ml= 33
30ml and above = 52
Body mists =19
Hair perfumes =2

I very nearly ordered Phlur Tangerine Boy earlier on. These stats have knocked me off the idea🙈😂

AndeanFlamingo · 02/01/2026 17:01

First out of the new year is the Jo Loves Christmas Trees votive I got in the Jo Loves advent calendar. This was very nice but no better than my beloved White Company Fir Tree (which is also much cheaper!).

TragicMuse · 02/01/2026 17:07

I have been sorting my stash, it’s quite…substantial! I haven’t counted or listed anything, but there are about 15 lip balms. Masses of shower gel, body creams and scrubs, and hand creams. And quite a few moisturisers.

I’m going to try my best to get through as much as possible.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 02/01/2026 17:16

I finished off a L'Occitane foot cream today. First of the year.

Last year I didn't buy any edits, despite much temptation. I did buy two advents though. One was fragrance so that doesn't count as I don't have a fragrance tab in my spreadsheet. Last year was a total of 104 out (a last minute pile for donation) and 47 in so I'm going in the right direction. I currently have 96 unopened items so I will hopefully make a good dent in it this year. I don't have many small sizes though so it will be slower.

CornishTiger · 02/01/2026 17:54

I have resisted new moisturiser and gonna make do for now.

Made a decision to use a body lotion daily after shower today. Reached for one of the small ones I had to use up. Travel size l’occitane one. Went to squeeze it out and the plastic snapped as it was so brittle so I have my first empty of 2026.

Also going to set an intention to do hand cream each evening. I have so much and seldom use it!

Now off to read @Francestein list!

Doglover73 · 02/01/2026 19:01

CorneliaStreet · 01/01/2026 19:00

OK, beginning of year inventory done, starting with skincare. I made some good inroads into the stash in 2025, but I am definitely not allowed to buy any cleanser, toner and especially lip balm for a very long time!

Cleansing balm/oil. Unopened: 6 full size. In use: 2
Cleanser. Unopened: 4 full size, 2 minis. In use: 4
Toner/essence. Unopened: 8 full size, 3 minis. In use: 4
Exfoliator. Unopened: 0. In use: 2
Serum. Unopened: 7 full size. In use: 3
Eye cream. Unopened: 2 minis. In use: 2
Moisturiser. Unopened: 5 full size, 4 minis. In use: 2
Sunscreen. Unopened: 3 full size. In use: 2
Mask (jar/tube). Unopened: 2 full size, 1 minis. In use: 1
Mask (sheet). 4
Lip balm. Unopened: 17 (!). In use: 5

Body care and perfume (the worst of all) to follow.

What a great way to do it. 😍
Im going to be brave and try and do mine in the coming weeks 🤣

TryingToFindMyStyle · 02/01/2026 19:36

I’ve never seen this thread before today and I feel like I’ve found my people 😂

I have a cupboard of creams, I used to be susceptible to a gift with purchase and have bought the occasional Rocca box. Last year I decided to make an effort to start working through my stash but lost momentum.

I did gather up all my little pots of face creams and serums and have made a dent in those. I used to keep a lot of sample pots and bottles for holidays but I don’t do enough holidays to use them up so I did finish a few last year. Posting my empties will help keep me focussed on using stuff.

AnonAnonmystery · 02/01/2026 19:47

I love how managing our products almost seems like a full time job 😅

Francestein · 02/01/2026 22:10

@AnonAnonmystery We should start up a consultancy business

dayslikethese1 · 02/01/2026 22:28

I got a couple empties today but I did also purchase a couple things so total amount remains the same. I most definitely do not need any more cleanser.

SheilaFentiman · 03/01/2026 10:34

Have tried to do a bit of sorting of the not yet started into wash bags (as I also have a wash bag hoard 😀)

15 hand creams (almost all of which are 30ml or less ie gift set or advent calendar size)
11 lip balms

I also have 3-4 of each of these on the go in handbags, desk drawers etc.

There may be others scattered about but that’s a decent start. No more hand creams or lip balms for me for a (long) while!

AndeanFlamingo · 03/01/2026 11:44

I tried my first cosmetics 'in' of the year today - Guerlain Bee Glow lip balm/tint in Pearly Peach. It's a lovely formula but the colour is really pink on me, which doesn't suit me at all. I have their lip oil in peach, which suits me really well, and assumed this would be the same colour. So now I'll just wear it when I'm not going out anywhere but it's going to take months to use up. This is why I prefer buying from companies that allow used items to be returned but I thought I'd be safe with this. Wrong!
