I'm going to Paris....

..and I've put money aside for a few treats. Problem is, I've usually been to Paris on family trips/work trips and I've not done much shopping.

What I'd like is a decent-size pharmacy for skincare - I could spend half a day just browsing there; and maybe some fun vintage stores too

A specific thing on my wishlist is a huge, parisian-style wool/cashmere scarf. I have no idea where to start looking for those.

Any other suggestions gladly accepted! I'll be going with a friend who is flying in with literally an empty suitcase, so shopping will make up a big part of the trip.

Where are you staying? Last time I went we stayed in the Marais and walked along to Les Halles; we also browsed the indie shops in the Marais and Montmartre. We didn’t get to the Latin quarter/ Left Bank but 25 years ago that’s where I used to browse for quirky things.

Les Grands Magasins are fun too and one of them (I think it was Printemps) has a vintage store at the top.

Have a lovely time!

Avoid City Pharma at all cost! Honestly it’s not worth it , so crowded , you will feel rushed ,
just go to any neighbourhood pharmacy or one of the many along the main streets around Opera , if you still want a big one try the one at Place de la Republique.
