What shoes with Bootcut Jeans?

I’ve realised at long last that Boot cut are by far the most flatterimg
jeans for my figure. I’ve bought a pair and was stunned the number of people who asked had I lost weight. Anyway I’m going to get a couple pairs. I’m just not sure what shoes to wear. I generally wear Birks on the school run or trainers. What would smarten them up a little? Thanks x

For every day wear, I wear mine with Timberland boots just like I did in the early noughties but they also go fine with most trainers.
I love my boot cut jeans

In winter most types of boots. But as a pp said not a pointy toe. I think you could also wear them with lace up doc martin shoes or heavy soled loafers. (Dune sells the type).

In summer, I used to wear them with a pair of tan flat Greek sandals.

After decades of wearing bootcut jeans I’m no longer comfortable in them, unfortunately. They really did fit my body shape but my body shape has changed with age.

Boot cut jeans with jogging shoes are apparently fashionable right now but I don’t like the look personally.

A pointy toe is the more up to date boot this year.

Trainers in the summer. Dms in the winter. The way I wore them in the 90s.

If I'm going out, cowboy boots or a stack heel. I don't really like black boots with blue denim.

I wear mine with Dr Martens sometimes, or some heeled shoe boots if I want to look a bit smarter.

they only look nice with heeled boots.

I disagree. I think they look awful with heeled boots. As someone else said, it’s the dreaded ‘mum boot’ look.

I wear mine with coloured adidas trainers. I have several pairs but am wearing the burgundy ones loads at the moment.

Avoid anything too pointed in the toes.

A nice, round boot with a lower heel is perfect.

Bootcut makes a pointy boot look comically big.

But a nice, wedge trainer as well looks really nice.

I don't find that, skinny or straight jeans make pointed shoes look big, bootcut jeans hide most of the shoe as long as they are the right length.

Agree

Short cowboy boots. The pointy toes lrnd themselves to the flared leg. Ariat have some beauties and they are very well made. There is a Dutch company, Moonrise that have a wonderful range of colours and designs.

Short cowboy boots with block heel or trainers for me.

Actually, yes, I wore them years ago with a Timberland boot. That does look alright.

I agree with pp that black boots and boot cut jeans nearly always veers into MN mum boot territory, which some may like, but I really don't.
