Rain sisters

I've seen a lot of adverts for their raincoats recently. I love the look. But at £300 it's a quite a lot of money. And I'm not exactly as slim as the models so I'm not sure how it'll look on me. I'm 12/14, top heavy. If it doesn't fit, I think you have to pay to return for refund.

Loving this one:

Does anyone have any experience of this brand please?

I bought the Rains string parka from its website in August after trying it on in a shop in a different colour.
I’m 5’2 and size wise anything from an 8 to 12. In the shop I tried on the small which I didn’t think allowed much room for a chunky jumper so I ordered a medium despite the sizing guide recommending the small as being right for me.
Being honest the medium does feel a little on the big size but with the middle cord tightened it’s fine.
Will I wear it in the colder weather though I’m not sure - to me it’s more a Mac for wet days in the warmer months
The pros for me are that it’s lightweight and looks as good open as it does zipped.
The cons are that the hood is far too big for my little head and even when it’s pulled tight (and looking ridiculous) it blows off, and that the slanted pockets are not the best.
Despite coming from abroad delivery was spot on and I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again, although the fact that returns have to be paid for is a bit off putting. Looking at the website I think they are offering free delivery this week

Oops - sorry OP I was too quick off the mark
I clicked on your link after I’d posted and now realise it’s not the same company.
Have you got the 10% discount code?. They sent me one after I looked

I bought one in the sale last year - think I paid about £180 for a beautiful black one with a pink satin lining. I adore it and love swooshing around. I’m quite big and bought an 18 (usually a 16-18) and I think it’s quite flattering.
it keeps the rain out, is warm enough to wear as a “proper coat” although probably not in the middle of winter. The hood does blow down in the wind and rain but I discovered extra toggle things yesterday so maybe I was just wearing it wrong.

Thanks for responding. I'm hoping they'll do a Black Friday sale this year with a decent amount off.

My sister has three of them, and gets stopped regularly by people complimenting them, and she’s around a 16/18. I also have one and like it a lot, though I do regret getting the double breasted bodice and will probably succumb to a different style next spring

I have one. I adore it. It's true to size and arrived very well packaged. I am 5'2" and needed the petite. I changed my mind on colour after my first one arrived and had no issues at all with the returns system. They are £240 ish when you apply the 10% discount codes. It is the most beautiful item I have ever owned. Delivery takes about 10 days from Latvia.

The ads for these always catch my eye, I live in a very rainy part of the UK and do a lot of walking. Does anyone know when/if they go on sale?

Magpiecomplex · 08/11/2025 14:54

I have one, black with red lining, and I'm very top heavy (20 top, 16 bottom). Always get compliments. My husband calls it my Matrix coat.

BlanketRose · 09/11/2025 13:16

I absolutely love mine. I get lots of compliments. Bought it in the spring sale for about £180 - it previously and currently retails for over £300 so was a genuine sale. I would like another and my understanding is that they have 2 big sales per year. From tracking old social media posts, Black Friday should start around 20th November…

BlanketRose · 09/11/2025 14:45

I was close. They’ve announced a sale from 17th.

I have two of their coats. I'm 5ft 2ins and find the sleeves a tad too long on the normal size, I have one in Petite which has better sleeve length. I did do an exchange for a different size and found them very good to deal with. I bought them in the sale too.
