I’d rather sign one banning them! I hate this extended Christmas we have to have these days. Bah humbug!

Perfidia · 04/11/2025 21:13

I dug out last year’s Zara sequinned skirt this weekend, as I folded away all my summer cottons and linens. It will go beautifully under a heavy tweed coat for the next couple of months.

In the olden days (pre-lockdown) I used to wear my black velvet jacket all year round …

pizzaHeart · 04/11/2025 21:16

I will do it if it will guarantee me a doctor appointment.

AlexisP90 · 04/11/2025 21:17

Signed!

Ive got a smear test tomorrow - might go in a sequin dress with a fur coat.

Why not. Be a treat

Same.

Xmas gets rammed down our throats so much, that by 24 December I’ve absolutely had enough of it. But I could totally get with this initiative. Why save the fancy gear for one or two parties?

But can I still wear my thermals and boots under the sparkly frock? No point suffering 😄

AlanJohnsonsBeemer · 04/11/2025 21:33

Signed! I am so casual/shabby day to day, but I love me a sequin and a bit of velvet when the occasion allows, so let’s make it popping up to tezzies for a tin of beans

notathenabutcassandra · 04/11/2025 21:42

In 10o%

RainySundayAfternoon · 04/11/2025 21:45

Just December but I’m in 😊

So would I.

The extension of events has gone too far. Advent and the 12 days of Christmas should be the maximum time for celebrations.

See also ideas that should be consigned to history, such as a birthday week.

dudsville · 04/11/2025 22:03

This is a great idea. Reminds me of kids, little ones, who have dressed themselves and are enjoying their creations. Clothes can be fun, who not wear a party dress to the post office?

NigelForage · 05/11/2025 04:21

Boo to the naysayers! 😗
Excellent work the rest of you!

I'm not up for full on party, but I'd be happy to go along with Christmas clothes wearing every day (I actually do this in December anyway)

Thortour · 05/11/2025 04:44

No. I think sequins are as bad as leopard print. Ghastly.

NigelForage · 05/11/2025 10:10

Feathers?

A woman called George on Insta promotes sparkle friday, she is worth a follow.

Brelim · 05/11/2025 11:34

Please no!! A lady at work has already started on the ‘festive’ earrings. We’ve had Christmas trees, snowmen, Father Christmas so far. Expecting a full on nativity soon.

Perfidia · 05/11/2025 11:44

Festive earrings are a step too far. Hmm

This is a style and beauty thread after all …

Maybe not November as I'm still in Halloween mode (best time of the year), but I can get on board for December.

Rosesanddaffs · 07/11/2025 09:48

@NigelForage haha! I would love to do this, nothing wrong with a bit of glam for 2 months xx
