Making short sleeve dresses work-friendly, tips?

I have some lovely dresses that would be great to wear to work. Unfortunately my office is cold most of the year and I can't bring myself to wear the short sleeve or sleeveless dresses in my wardrobe as I end up shivering.
I'm not a big fan of cardigans to be honest and just want something to cover my arms whilst still preserving the 'look' of the dress.
I have tried pairing these dresses with a long sleeve tshirt underneath but it feels and looks a bit... weird?!
Any hints or tips from those who've had the same dilemma?

Something with lace/sheer sleeves maybe?

Great idea, although I do find lace ages an outfit and I'm looking for something a bit more sleek. Hmm

I wear the thermal long sleeved vests from M&S under short sleeved dresses. It doesn’t suit all styles of dress (depends on neckline) but works with some tunic styles.

How about a cropped jumper?

Depends what they’re like but I think a thin polo would work on some for the winter months.

Blazers? Or jumper and make the dress into a skirt jumper combo

Depending on the style of dress, a really thin, fitted polo neck might do the trick. I've got a couple of uniqlo heat tech ones that I wear under dresses in the winter.

I love the Whistles jersey blazers with dresses.

I’d wear the dress over uniglo heatteck turtle neck with cashmere and matching cashmere tights very warm and cozy but still stylish.

I go with a long sleeved tee (adding a thermal vest underneath if really cold).
I think they look good. The trick is to get a very fitted one and choose a complementary colour.
New Look do some really nice ribbed long sleeved t shirts with a deep scoop neckline so they dont interfere with the dress neckline.
