Odd reverse Dupe question: Boots

WhatAreYouOnAboutF · 04/11/2025 19:15

This is the reverse of the typical "can you find me a cheaper" dupe question. know its odd. Can anyone help me find a better quality/more expensive version of these boots?

https://www.mandmdirect.com/01/details/FQ30421

These turned up on an advert and I love them but they are £21 and synthentic. I prefer to spend more on shoes that I like because they last longer if you look after them so wouldn't normally buy shoes this cheap.

Has anyone seen anything similar that are leather/better quality please?

No idea, but I'd try brands like Dune, Timberland, Sorel, Josef Seibel etc.
M&S and Celic & Co might be worth a try.

Biker Ankle Boots

I think some of the surfy brands could also be worth looking at eg fat face , sea salt, white stuff

OnlyOnAFriday · 04/11/2025 20:14

I’d say look at Sorel boots

Mairzydotes · 04/11/2025 20:21

Try Hush Puppies

None of them are available in grey, but if you're flexible about colour look at:
Wakely Boots £110
Remonte £105
Felina Igloo £190, but real sheepskin lining
Tamaris Oak £90

Barbour have lots like this.

thank you all replies - it was these 3 things I liked - the lighter grey colour especially, the buckles and buckle position and the fleece lining

I can't find anything close to it really.

Get the cheap ones then. You like them, they might only last a season, they might last longer.

Deichmann boots are surpisingly good. I have two pair which I wear alongside boots and shoes from Dune, Pavers & Gucci!

UpMyself · 06/11/2025 09:49

@KaliforniaDreamz, Do you want boots for just walking about in or do you want proper hiking boots?

KaliforniaDreamz · 06/11/2025 09:49

Mostly for dog walks but may well wear casually too. if they're nice.

Ohh really, I’ve seen a few in store I like but the cheap price put me off, I might have to give them a go

UpMyself · 06/11/2025 09:53

@KaliforniaDreamz , Lace-ups or pull-on?
First thought was Blundstone.
Brands like Sorel, Barbour, Timberland might have something.
(Mine are ancient, sheepskin lined and from Sorel)

(For proper hiking boots try outdoor shops - e.g.Cotswolds)

You probably should have started a thread.

I have one pair which are leather. They are black smart ankle boots and I wear them to work. I have had them about 2 years.

The other pair I have had the same length of time and have worn them lots but they are faux suede and so I tend to wear them more as a dressy boot. (I wouldn't go out in the rain in them for example).

They are very comfortable. I did try their knee high boots and didn't find them right for me. The fake leather ones do look cheap (but fake suede looks OK).
