What bags do your DD's have? Looking for inspo - not just brands as budget isn't massive - for Christmas. My DD is uncertain in her tastes but tends to prefer either quite conservative, smart clothes or v casual/ slouchy (she has tote bags for that look). She liked the Sophia & Spritz bags but I'm not sure if they are too old womany. She has a Superdry crossbody but I think she'd like something a bit less branded.

What's your budget, and what does she want/need to carry in it?

The Uniqlo crossbody gets mentioned a lot on here and comes in lots of colours and fabrics.

Was going to say the same.
Great colours and love the corduroy for winter.

DD and both Dil's have them-they are all i their early to late 20's.

Also big enough to get a surprising amount in them!

5⭐

That was my first thought too!

FuzzyWolf · 04/11/2025 16:27

ROKA bags are also popular.

Glennponder · 04/11/2025 16:54

Uniqlo

Another question for you @PrincessOfPreschool . What does she want the bag for? Going out, everyday, special occasions...?
I suggested cheap and cheerful because unless you want one for a definite purpose, it will not be used.

I'd want one to be big enough for my phone, wallet, lip balm, tissues and keys.
If phones get bigger it might not fit.

PrincessOfPreschool · 04/11/2025 18:34

She uses it if she goes out with friends, shopping or a meal out. Phone, cards (somewhere to put them, no purse), keys, lip balm, tickets. Nothing big. If taking her headphones she would use her tote. Just wondered what is currently a bit cool but also smart. Budget £100 max.

My 18 yr old definitely favours her ROKA Paddington Crossbody for shopping and gigs. I got it in the Surprise Goody Bag Jan Sales after I bought her a backpack for Christmas in the Black Friday sale and loved the quality of it.

sansou · 04/11/2025 18:58

I meant the infamous ROKA Lucky Dips

Check the measurements of the bag she likes, and order one, or look for something similar. Read reviews like Trustpilot.
I'd try TKMaxx.

atiaofthejulii · 04/11/2025 20:19

Yeah, my girls (20s are all still in love with their Uniqlo crescent bags) and I got my bf's daughter one for her 17th which she uses (phew!)

ThatPinkShark · 06/11/2025 07:02

Look for some styles of backpacks. They have a large capacity and are less likely to be outdated.

catontheironingboard · 06/11/2025 07:07

The Uniqlo bags are still v popular here! You can now get them in the normal and a mini size as well. I bought DD (and me) a few in different colours - they are so useful!

TiredCatLady · 06/11/2025 07:09

White Stuff do a little leather cross body in a variety of colours - the Fern crossbody. They do a bigger one and a mini one. You can get a surprising amount of stuff in the mini one.
