Sezane jeans size confusion

Le brut jeans- how do you size them? The biggest size is a 36, I’m usually a 14uk but would go for a 16 as apparently the run small.
Is the 36 going to be too small or big?

Where are you buying them from? And what does 36 refer to? I’d assume European sizing in which case you’d need a 46. In current stock on the Sezane website there are Brut Sexy jeans available (not Le Brut) but a 36 is around a size 10 if you click on the conversion/size guide? A 36 in jeans sizing in the UK is roughly a 16-18 but given that this is a French product I’d assume a 36 refers to the French sizing and therefore would be too small.

The size charts are useless in this instance. It’s weird because I also thought that about the 36 being a small size but they have sizes all the way down to 24 so surely that’s more like the size 0?

I would assume the sizing of the denim runs like Levi’s and other jeans brands. I’m a size 10 and would usually buy a 27 or 28. Theres a sizing chart on the Levi’s website you could refer to. A size 14 would be a 32 I think.

I’d assume they were a UK small, but maybe drop them a line and ask?

You could possibly get into a 38 but a 14 would be a 40. If you’re wanting to size up- 42. That’s if you’re going by standard clothes sizing.
If the jeans are sized by waist size in inches, like Levi’s for example then you’d need a 30 or 32

I’ve had a reply from Sezane who admit the sizing is confusing. Basically at a 14 I could fit in a 36 but it might be a bit snug so depends how you like your jeans to fit. So doesn’t relate to Levi sizing or any sizing really 😂😂

That can’t be right. Sezane don’t use waist sizing like some denim brands use. They use normal dress sizing. Do a size 36 is a UK size 8. I think this style has a snug fit so if you are a uk size 14 you would be a size 42 or 44.

Unless you are in a different country where the sizing is completely different?
