Need a new perfume

I have been using Chanel Madamoiselle for 20 years now, but I'm finding the smell disappears almost immediately on me over the past few months. Would love some recommendations for a new perfume please 🙏
Don't like them too "spicy" or too intense. Slightly floral but not too citrussy (if that's a word).

Please hit me with your recommendations 😊

Dior J’adore or Miss Dior

GeorgesMarvelousCalpol · 03/11/2025 11:21

Thanks @PeonyPatch, I'll give them a sniff test at the weekend 😊

Empressa Penhaligon's. Has similar citrus notes, but lasts way longer.

I am a big fan of Coco Mademoiselle — some other Chanel scents that I like are Gabrielle and Chance Eau Splendide (the purple one). I also like Eau Tendre but prefer to wear that in the spring and summer as it’s lighter and fresher. I prefer Coco Mademoiselle in the winter. The Dior ones I recommended are lovely and loved by myself and my mum too.

I am currently wearing Gardenia Intense by Gucci - so another one for you to try!

Thanks @KatharinaRosalie and @PeonyPatch

I was given Chance a couple of years ago as a present, you've reminded me & I did like it.
But maybe it's time to look past Chanel...

Chloé EDP might suit you, it's a soft, clean floral, quite feminine and powdery. Or possibly Burberry Goddess, which is a warm vanilla, not overly sweet/gourmand or spicy.

Try the Perfume Society perfume finder - just put in a perfume that you like and it will give up to 6 suggestions.

This is what a search on Coco Mademoiselle came up with:

Our Fragrance Finder recommends… - The Perfume Society

Thanks @MotherWol and @keepincool.

I've looked at those Perfume Society recommendations, but I don't recognise most of those... interesting to see though!

I've just tried a sample of lancome la vie est belle, vanilla nude and I love it. It's pricey though. I tried to do a linky thing to it but buggered it up as I'm on a kindle fire and it's useless sorry

Top Notes: Bergamot Essence, Orange Essence, Pink Pepper
Heart Notes: Jasmine, Iris, Fluffy Coconut Accord
Base Notes: Vanilla, White Musk, Sandalwood

PeonyPatch · 03/11/2025 20:20

Another suggestion is Chloe Nomade EDP. I had that last Autumn/Winter and received lots of compliments on it!

Elie Saab. Girl of Now

John Lewis have 20% off at the moment.

Ooooh yes, J'Adore! My most reached for at the mo is Paco Rabanne Olympea Absolu. I've never looked at PR before but the canny saleperson in duty free did a liberal spraying as I walked by and I was sold.

Top note: apricot
Middle: jasmine
Base: vanilla and amber

Dammila · 04/11/2025 02:34

I also liked Coco Mademoiselle but not so much the cirtrusy notes. I love Narciso Rodriguez "Her". Floral but woody.

Jean Paul Gautier's La Belle is lovely and lasts well
on the skin.

GeorgesMarvelousCalpol · 05/11/2025 18:09

Thanks all - lots of options to try. 😊

How about Chanel Coromandel? I find it very longlasting.

Go into a perfume department store/Boots and ask them.

I've never failed to find a new perfume I like with this method.
