Ralph Lauren type style.

I saw a woman, possibly Spanish or Italian, at breakfast in a nice hotel this morning. She looked incredible. So casually elegant and stylish. Long straight dark hair. Minimal makeup. Wearing a red tartan shirt with a white collar, taupe chino trousers, navy gillet. Sounds awful in writing but she looked like she'd stepped out of a Ralph Lauren campaign. I felt like a lumpy British mess. Jeans and jumper. I'm a small size 12, 5'7 with goodish hair and OK skin. Any ideas or people i could follow online to start to upgrade my style? Definitely need some good flatish leather boots too. Note to self to stop wearing trainers everywhere.

I really like Elodie Romy. She’s young but she dresses in the French Heritage style that I like. Might be worth a look.

I agree about Elodie Romy. The only thing I would add is to copy an entire outfit until you get the hang of how to dress in the style you like.

Use Pinterest to create mood board of what your preferences are and then screenshot the images put them through Google image search to find items that resemble them. Instagram etc is too on trend pushing fast fashion.
