Shu Uemura haircare - tell me if it's worth the price?

I was recently given some samples of She Uemura shampoo and hair mask. Used them and thought they were really really good. I then went online to buy them expecting they'd be expensive, you know in the region of £15-20 a bottle. Well I nearly fell over when I saw the shampoo was around £40 and the mask over £60!!
Appreciate I can use promo vouchers etc or find cheaper alternatives but my question is to those that do use this brand is it really that amazing? I'd actually hate to buy something that people say is just as good at half the price and then be disappointed.

I'm probably going to buy it but would love some validation from you style and beauty gurus!

They might be lovely but no haircare is really worth that price. I recently went to a fancy salon and they used Oribe products. I checked the prices and was 😲 shocked. I'm sticking to Redken and Ouai as a treat, although still think they're pushing the boundary on price.

A bottle of shampoo lasts me about a year (most people use too much shampoo) so if I wanted to buy it I would.

I allowed myself to be bamboozled into buying Shu Uemura products in a fancy salon once. They were good but not, in my opinion, actually worth the money. Similarly I have bought and used Oribe before now (am total sucker) and won’t do so again. It was good but they were appreciably more expensive than Living Proof/Redken/Kerastase without being appreciably better.
