Best matte lipstick for older lips

Any recommendations? I don’t like heavy lipsticks and usually wear a tinted balm. I’d like to try a matte lipstick in some kind of mid brown colour but don’t want anything too dry that will accentuate the lines on my 50yr old lips.

Don’t know where to start (and don’t want to fall for the Charlotte Tilbury hard sell!)

I’m 53 and love Mac macximal lipsticks. Matte but go on really well. I have Mehr and Ruby woo and both go on so well and last,
I have Ruby woo in the normal matte as well but find it really hard to apply,

Whatever you end up buying - get the MAC lip primer. It makes any matte lipstick feel a lot more comfortable and wear longer. One of their most under rated products and one I’ve repurchased many times.

Have you looked at the Lisa Eldridge lipsticks? Whilst I tend to prefer satin finishes (I love her Luxuriously Lucent line) her True Velvet mattes are probably the most comfortable on the lip that I’ve ever worn. Velvet Affair might be worth a look:

I got a lip balm from Refy in space NK, I'd never heard of it but it looks like a lipstick on and the texture is really nice

I purchased the Lancome beauty box recently, which included a Lancôme L'Absolue Rouge Intimatte Lipstick. I thought would hate it, as I don't normally like matt lipsticks, however it's turned out to be one of my favourites.

P.S. I'm 59 with thin lips and it looks fine.

Fwee pudding pot from Boots.

Korean make up you apply with a finger or with a silicone applicator.

Or Unlipstick from Beauty Pie which is easer to apply and is a matte stain. Really easy and comfortable. They are mostly reddish and rosy colours though.

I love this as well.

I was about to say CT felt nice and not too drying on the lips so I would recommend this!

Yes!

@BoxOfCats Had a look at the primer and will be picking one up when next at Mac. Thank you, it looks great

Bobbi brown cashmere matte lipstick in neutral rose is my holy grail.
