Mastectomy bras and inserts are very uncomfortable

Can anyone please help with suggestions? I had a mastectomy and reconstruction some years ago. However, the saline filled implant ruptured and gradually reduced in size. I have recently had surgery to remove the remains of the implant as it was causing pain. I have a breast form to match the remaining breast but I find it so uncomfortable to wear because it gets so hot and sticks to my skin. If I wear a mastectomy bra with pockets to hold the form and keep it away from my skin, it is equally uncomfortable as the pockets are made of nylon. I've resorted to stuffing my bra with socks as these are more comfortable! Has anyone found a solution to this please?

I have sorted that search by mastectomy. I hope it helps 💜

Have a look at knitted knockers they’re a charity so free and very lightweight.

Someone I follow on instagram had a post mastectomy bra with a pocket made for her by a tiny company that do hand made underwear, she was raving about it being 100% cotton. Hang on and I'll find out the name!

You’re probably best going into a local independent bra shop that has experience dealing with mastectomies and inserts. Macmillan should be able to recommend someone local to you. If you’re within striking distance of Keynsham Perfect Fit is an excellent place to try. I have a Royce front fastening bra with pockets which is a high percentage cotton blend, maybe have a look at their website?

Thank you so much - sounds exactly what I need. I'd never heard of this charity. I moved to Australia 4 years ago and was delighted to find that there are branches here, so I've registered to receive and to donate as I am an avid knitter. Thanks again for taking the time to answer. 😍

Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to answer my query. The Knitted Knockers sound just what I need as they are light and made of absorbable cotton. I have mastectomy bras and ordinary bras, but none of these are comfortable with the silicone breast inserts as they make one's skin very hot and wet if wearing all day, especially in hot weather. Thanks again to you all.
