Help needed, please!
I’m attending the evening do of a wedding this December - invite says ‘dress to impress’ and I just can’t find anything that feels quite right.
I’m 31, around 5 foot 8 and currently a size 12 (after a recent period of weight loss). I’m reasonably curvy with a small waist - and so generally clothing that accentuates this is a positive or I find it makes me look bigger. I would automatically reject anything that means I can’t wear a bra - I could probably manage a strapless bra, but wouldn’t wear a backless dress, for example.
In terms of budget - reasonably flexible. I’d rather spend less than £100 but could go to around £150 for something spectacular! I don’t have any strong preferences on colour - I do quite like bright/jewel tones. I also do a lot of shopping on Vinted - so not opposed to something second hand.
I’m in a bit of a style rut generally - my historic style has been lots of floral dresses but I’ve been moving away from that recently. I’m attending the wedding with my two sisters - both of whom are very trendy and always effortlessly cool. I would say I’ve always felt like the ‘dumpy’/‘frumpy’ one of the three of us (sorry - I know these are awful words) and so I am really keen to find something flattering and that I feel confident in!
