Fabulous party flats

Please point me towards some amazing flats to wear with a black tuxedo suit (with slightly cropped cigarette trousers) and plain camisole top (either white or silver). For a black tie Christmas event.

I live in trainers and my feet are size 7 and quite wide and flat and I prefer something with a bit of a sole. I love big chunky loafers but I don't think they'd work. I need to be able to walk and dance.

Dr Martens shoes? Following to hear what others suggest

Oooh lovely outfit. I think you need pointed flats possibly with a bit of sparkle. Try googling that to start

Hdpr · 29/10/2025 22:55

Sam Endelman are really comfortable in my opinion. Something like this? www.samedelman.co.uk/nori-pointed-toe-ballet-flat.html?color=478

I would go for ballet pumps. Black is the safest colour, obviously, but silver to match camisole would go too.
I'm older, with dodgy knees, and awful feet, so I always go for comfort. I like to look good too though. Depends on your age as to what you'd like. I find Pavers look really comfy, plus if you look past the 'old lady shoes' they have some really lovely ones, including patterned Mary Jane's that look like wicked Doc Martens! But more chunky than ballet flats, but it depends what look you want.
Me, I'd go for the less ladylike chunky shoes, but then I need a lot of padding underneath for my knees!

I like the shape of the Endelman ones but they are very flat and pointy and I think I'd like something more sparkly with a rounder toe.

I'm imagining a suede/velvet loafer almost in a slipper shape with some detailing. I'm sure Kurt Geiger had them a few years ago with lobsters on them

I like these, Russel & Bromley pearl loafers or Nokwol diamond mesh, but I think they’re maybe just too flat, would you wear a very small kitten heel?

Searching for embellished flats might find you some good results

Bjorkdidit · 30/10/2025 08:36

Oh, I thought this was going to be about renting a swanky apartment for a party that would look good on social media. Blush

Rina66 · 30/10/2025 08:53

These are nice from Next, but again very flat, velvet might be quite nice too? I like the bow, perhaps black velvet with a satin bow would be lovely?

Have a look at the Gabor Jackie loafer in silver. Lovely soft leather. They have diamanté buckles on the front. They sound naff but I had loads of compliments when I wore them to a wedding in the summer. They've also got them in vibrant blue and emerald green suede. Sorry but I cant get the link to work.

Callmejudith · 30/10/2025 21:27

@Lilsoph they're quite cool actually

Silver fitflops? The ballet flats are like wearing trainers, seriously!
