Navy Single Breasted Crombie Style Coat

Has anyone seen a navy single breasted crombie style coat in shops/on websites ?
It doesn’t have to be wool.
A wool mix is fine.
Under £150 please.

with a little folded hankie in the breast pocket?

Would rather not have a breast pocket on it. But if it has one that’s fine. No hankie.
Just a simple plain navy single breasted coat is what I’m after.

Sorry, no help, but I remember picking up an immaculate Crombie for £4 in a charity shop in 1999!

Crombie cloth was made in my home city.
My parents met there a very long time ago.
The Mill shut years ago.

I’ve just bought a pure wool navy coat from M&S on Vinted for £20.00. Maybe worth a look there.

Hmm. I found this. It says it's 77% wool. From the photos, I suspect it's not very nice but you could get one to try?

I also found some highly impressive ones for around £750 😂 Strangely, there are some nice ladies' versions for not that much less but they all have exposed buttons.

I didn't have one back in the day because the good ones were bloody expensive and I wasn't going to wear a woollen bin bag just because it was called a Crombie.

I have a Creme de la Creme coat now (not this type) and, while the fabric is dense and scratchy, it's actually very serviceable and doesn't look bad - it simply doesn't look luxe, which your Crombie actually should.

The Boden one's nice, @someoneseatenmyapple. Not a 'Crombie' and the buttons need changing, but it's a very tidy, formal-looking coat in what appears to be a decent fabric.

A single breasted navy coat shouldn’t be that hard to find, but it is.
Saw one potential in Mango but it was so long it was trailing the ground almost and I didn’t love it enough to buy it and spend a lot getting it altered.
There are lovely single breasted coats in black but it’s navy I want.

When you say single-breasted, what are you picturing? I wouldn't really say there's a shortage of women's coats with just one line of buttons, which is what it means.

I'm hoping that your difficulty in finding what you wanted is due to looking for the wrong thing!

I got a wool-blend one from John Lewis Anyday last year. It won't be available any more but you might find one on Vinted.
