Please can i have reccomendations for foundation for older skin? I have used estee lauder double wear for years but since reaching 50 it looks caked on. I do need quite good coverage as suffer from mild rosaecia.

I used to use Doubke Wear and now IT cosmetics CC cream is the best one I’ve found for decent coverage and not drying my skin out too much. It does benefit from a setting spray. Also Rimmel lasting finish is good. I see lots of recommendations for Armani luminous silk but I found it not moisturising enough and the coverage is quite light.

Treat the roseacia and ditch the foundation is my advice, see a dermatologist if you can?

FateAmenableToChange · 26/10/2025 14:28

Try soolantra for the rosacea.
I’m 50s and I like the Vieve skin nova. I think you need something more moisturising as you get older. It works brilliantly with their primer too which really help with not settling in lines.

Clinique do various foundations - lighter ones, fuller ones. Might be worth a try.
Estee Lauder do a lighter foundation, less heavy than Double Wear.

Ester Lauder also do a lighter version Futurist Hydra Rescue also I am also looking at a Clarins tinted moisturiser and a Bare minerals one but can’t decide Blush

For a full coverage, stay put option - Teint Idole by Lancôme.

For a dewier, lighter coverage, recently tried the new cushion foundation from Sculpted by Aimee and am very impressed.

Try the DW sheer instead,it's really nice.

Isayitasitis · 26/10/2025 16:44

No7 stay perfect or no7 hydraluminous foundation. They match you to your shade colour as well.

Ditch foundation in favour of tinted moisturiser. That was the game changer for me when i turned 50. Erborian is awesome - I like the CC cream.

I have switched from double wear to Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin.

cotedazur28 · 26/10/2025 18:33

I really like Laura Mercier longer flawless foundation. Decent coverage which applies like a lightweight foundation.

I haven’t found anything that lasts like DW, so I use it but mixed with the overnight serum and a drop of Iconic glow drops, buff it in with a flat top foundation brush. It works. I then spritz with Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush flawless setting spray, which gives a a very subtle glow.

I use arbonne, not a massive supporter of the company but one of my friends is a rep for them and their foundation is brilliant. You only need a tiny bit, it has good coverage and it has a very light finish.

Beautiful Skin by Charlotte Tilbury is gorgeous.
