Cleanser under £10

Has anyone got a recommendation for a good cleanser under £10 please? For normal to slightly dry mature skin.

I’m currently finishing a Lidl cleanser which I wouldn’t buy again, and have also used:l the following on the last couple of years:

Cerave (too drying)
Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth - good
Superdrug B Cleanse - good but not keen on a balm so much
Simple cleansers - good but nothing special
Aldi hot cloth cleansers - loved these but can’t find them anymore
Aldi marine balm - not keen
L’Oreal cleansing milk (pink one) - stings skin

Sukin is very gentle.
I'm going to try the Simple oil cleanser next.

SeriousFaffing · 26/10/2025 11:04

You’ve already mentioned it, but I do love the Superdrug vitamin E hit cloth cleanser- however, I think that this one just pips it https://www.superdrug.com/skin/face-skin-care/cleansers/hot-cloth-cleansing/naturally-radiant-hot-cloth-cleanser-150ml/p/826993

No7 cleansing lotion for dry skin. Maybe stop using the ones that need rinsing (the water is hard in my area) and use an alcohol free toner to remove this.

frugalkitty · 26/10/2025 12:18

The Simple cleansing oil is good. Our Aldi also has the hot cloth cleansers back in.
The Inkey List Oat balm is nice but the one I bought recently has bits in it so I don't know if that's new or I got a dodgy one, so I won't buy that again.
Sukin cream cleanser is nice and gentle if you don't want a balm texture

The Aldi Moringa cleansing balm is good. Have just finished that tub and it lasted ages. Have bought the rose version to try next just for a change. The moringa one left my skin feeling very soft and it wasn’t drying, so for the price it was as good as some very expensive ones I’ve had in the past (drunk elephant springing to mind).

MarmiteMaiden · 26/10/2025 12:32

Just to add, I found the Inkey List oat cleanser is okay but the tube it comes in is an absolute pain in the arse - the product just remains in the tube because it’s so stiff and in order to get it out I had to cut the end of the tube off and scoop it. Just no! I even tried adding a little water into the tube and shaking it to see if it would slacken the balm off enough to be able to squeeze it out. No joy with that. Wouldn’t buy it again cos of the faff.

I swap between Avene Tolerance (when it’s on offer)and Aveeno Calm and Restore cleanser (about £6), removed with a muslin and water. I have sensitive, dry skin and react to a lot of brands so stick with these.

GreyCarpet · 26/10/2025 13:24

I use cold pressed virgin coconut oil on my face and follow the oil cleansing method. I also take collagen powder daily.

I'm 51 but apparently don't look it 🤷🏻‍♀️ and the collagen seems to have sorted out the dry patches. My skin is really soft.

I try to use as few chemicals as possible.

Superfacialist hydrating rosehip creamy cleanser. Gentle, hydrating. Also really like their Vitamin C cleansing oil. Both over £10 theoretically, but frequently on special below that.

buckeejit · 26/10/2025 13:25

Una Brennan vitamin C oil cleanser - it’s lovely, smells great & the oil is really thin so not heavy

This! I bought 3 of the things and am planning on decanting the next one into an empty balm pot (Aldi one).

I love the Aldi one - the rose one in particular.

I’m a bit of a cleansing balm obsessive after being inducted by the Elemis pro-collagen version about 2 decades ago. I’ve been on a mission to find a decent, low priced replacement ever since and have tried many different ones, but my latest (and most hugely surprising one) is an Aura cleansing balm from Home Bargains at £3.49. £3.49! It’s every bit as nice as any other one I’ve tried, and a lot better than most for my dry post-meno skin. Comes in a wee yellow tub and lasts for a while. I’ve also tried their other products - seriously, you can get a whole proper skincare routine for something like £15 - and they’re lovely! Not Elemis standard but perfectly acceptable on a tight budget and I say this as someone who’s very fussy about skin products.

Also a fan of the superfacialist oil. They have it on boots £10 Tuesday sometimes.

Soap & Glory Ultimelt is very good.

Also a fan of the superfacialist oil. They have it on boots £10 Tuesday sometimes.

Also the Superfacialist stuff often 1/3 off with Nectar at Sainsbos, and turns up at TK Maxx fairly often. If you buy a few when you see them cheap, you'll never pay more than £8!

KitchenTrollyDolly · 26/10/2025 15:15

Micellar Water works great for me. Recently changed from the Garnier one to Morrison's Nutmeg label and I can't tell the difference. £2.80/500ml

underseige05 · 26/10/2025 18:27

I love the aveno oat cleanser. I often get it on offer in boots or asos it's under £10 full price

ilovemydogandmrobama2 · 26/10/2025 18:38

Geek & Gorgeous Jelly Cleanser
Aldi Laura Hydrating Cleanser - was pleasantly surprised - it was way more hydrating than Cera Ve and something like £3.99

BoogalooBoo · 26/10/2025 19:25

Good old fashioned olay cleanser, it's about 2 quid and is the only thing that completely melts every but of mascara and eye liner off, gently. I rub it straight into face with makeup on, wipe with cotton pad then wipe the residue off with a hot flannel for a really good clean, and moisturise with nivea soft. Been doing it since I was 13 and I've tried expensive alternatives during my 20s and early 30s but keep coming back to the basics!

Another vote for The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser. Fab stuff.

To remove makeup I use coconut oil to massage the makeup off. Then a hot wet face cloth to wipe it off gently. Works perfectly and isnt drying at All.
Anything else makes my skin dry

Please can I ask which brand of coconut oil do you use and do you use it as a face or body moisturiser too?

UpMyself · 27/10/2025 09:21

@SoapCollector , you can use branded coconut oil or a cooking grade one (I get it from a pound shop), just check it is 'Pure coconut oil' - some of them will have fragrance in them.

KTC Coconut Oil - Ocado

I wipe if off, then rinse.
I sometimes use it as body moisturiser.Rub it in then put on socks and loungewear.

Appalonia · 27/10/2025 09:27

I use Garnier or Simple Micellar water. I have sensitive skin and they don't sting or dry my skin out.
