I'm after a new one. I want everything! Curl length and volume! Anyone recommendations? I was looking at the chantecaille faux oils. Anyone used it?

I’m really impressed with both the Elf and Charlotte Tilbury tubing mascaras. They don’t smudge or flake and just wash off easily.

Sexentric · 26/10/2025 06:19

Thanks. I'm not sure im a fan of tubing mascara. I used to have the clinical one and it was great for not smudging but the little bits would get in my eyes when I was trying to remove it

Benefit's they're real has always worked for me more than any other mascara :)

Dutchhouse14 · 26/10/2025 09:24

Jumping on does anyone have any recommendations for lash primer /or similar to stop smudging?
I think I have oily lashes and touch my eyes more than I think!
I have dug out my lancome hypnose drama which looks great when I first apply it but ends up smudging also had the exactly the same with benefit badgirl, good when first applied but I always smudge it.
I was underwhelmed by elf, was OK but nothing amazing, easy to remove tbough.
Prime prometics mascara doesn't smudge and stays in place but less dramatic results, quite subtle.

ShellUK09 · 26/10/2025 10:13

Lancome Idole is one I keep repurchasing. It gives a lovely fanned out look with a lengthening effect as well as adding volume, it lasts a while too.

TeaRoseTallulah · 26/10/2025 10:27

Maybelline sky high is brilliant, better than all the top end ones.

Purplecatshopaholic · 26/10/2025 10:29

Charlotte T’s Push Up lashes. Awesome. My absolute Go-To.

DeclineandFall · 26/10/2025 10:45

I'm more impressed with the sky high primer. It manages to make most mascaras better.

doubleshift · 26/10/2025 10:47

I love Benefit Roller Lash. Their other mascaras leave me with panda eyes but this formula is great.

Catpiece · 26/10/2025 10:48

Elf tubing mascara is fab

SandrenaIsMyBloodType · 26/10/2025 10:53

I have used the Chantecaille and repurchased several times.
But it’s about £60 a tube and although I absolutely loved it on first application on some days it would smudge as the day wore on. It’s too much money for inconsistent longevity.
I have switched to the Victoria Beckham Vast Lash. It’s about half the price and it gives curl, length and volume and doesn’t flake or smudge.

TennisLady · 26/10/2025 10:56

Maybelline Sky High, I always go back to it!

SeriousFaffing · 26/10/2025 11:07

Nothing ever beats L’Oreal Lash Paradise for me. Love the normal one but I also often deviate to the waterproof to hold curl.

I've heard that you can apply tubing mascara on top of normal mascara to stop smudging, never tried it though.

There's also this from Clarins but haven't tried that either.

After years of spending £25 on expensive dior/chanel/YSL mascaras I've discovered the maybelline Sky High cills sensational. I don't work for them by the way lol but this is a really really great mascara and as a blonde the purple and maroon ones are so good for a more subtle look. £11 mostly. Great mascara. comes off with hot water, then a dab of micellar

Maybelline Sky High, I always go back to it!

I love this and it's a recent discovery for me. I love the purple

This! The plum one 😊

This! The plum one 😊

Weirdly I can't use the plum one as it irritates my eyes but the brown is perfect and no irritation.

PerkyCyanPoet · 26/10/2025 13:06

I’ve just got the Vieve one and love it so far!

Before the Vieve one I was using the ELF dupe for Benefit Roller Lash, I actually preferred the dupe to the real thing because it did the same job and is much cheaper.

Catsknowbest · 26/10/2025 13:33

Atm I am loving Barry M Feature Length. I do have fairly long natural lashes though so it might not be so good if they're shorter...?

ohyesido · 26/10/2025 14:09

Benefit Bad Gal Bang is best one I’ve ever used.

a more budget friendly option is Essence Lash Princess for £4 in Boots

BeretRaspberry · 26/10/2025 18:10

Another vote for Maybelline Sky High. I’ve tried loads from high end to cheap and I always go back to this.

agree. Lancôme idol or dolls eyes are both my current favourites.
