Christmas jumper hunt

OvertiredandConfused · 25/10/2025 17:11

Can anyone help me find a Christmas jumper please? I’m not really a massive fan of the whole thing but I don’t want to look like a Scrooge!

This time last year I was really very big and have lost more than 6st to get down to a size 16 to 18. I’m looking for a V-neck if possible and ideally red or neutrals. Definitely nothing pink.

Asda alway have nice ones and this comes from me who hates Christmas jumpers!!

starmoonsun · 25/10/2025 17:24

I got nice ones from peacocks and yours before. My advice would be look for a thinner type as obviously if your indoors there's heating on and it can get hot.

Parsleysalad · 25/10/2025 17:25

Loads on Vinted and you can search by colour

Why not buy a v neck jumper you can use all year round and then jazz it up by sewing on a few of these and taking them off again in January? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Christmas-Appliqu%C3%A9s-Snowman-Accessories-Attic/dp/B077J8FW5C/ref=sr_1_6?crid=3FZ944HUX5CRL&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.M8dAVVxROFWVC16KsU-DPLBEQCUUkOuwgvK7h8vTkrQVelKghpbxyIqXDMYVh1mUp794bPR64etbG9L7VZJoP54T7Y_4DlqdS7DgaeYUsm1WABRdZrg88dsgxKn2b8nY4oVHcf0vS1OmIOnZsQTYRhGSW2g-6pa9oeR8fyaPoX8anWrSUm8MIUUtNHnMsXvK0ZWMXrtuAHTtg-pXixSVTLQAbMSyMpZgPnfBj7UxhqTLsVcW7qjO3JMtSLPzlLmoUeSK5tBCuBHrNtNgyHlywH3LDpDczoOhHFitguBTLII.xsiDWzHgIO65YxuukgPEZWMCVOlq5x5KHHDvcLn0_bo&dib_tag=se&keywords=large+christmas+sew+on+motifs&qid=1761409737&sprefix=large+christmas+sew+on+motifs%2Caps%2C110&sr=8-6

purser25 · 25/10/2025 17:58

Go round the charity shops they always have them.

PerkyCyanPoet · 25/10/2025 18:05

Next have some fun ones but definitely check Vinted first!

I’m not a fan of polyester knits and I didn’t want to pay £££ for a wool jumper I’ll only wear a handful of times a year, so I’ve finally found a Christmas sweater that I like from an Etsy seller ☺️

Arrivederla · 25/10/2025 18:17

I'm not really a fan of Christmas jumpers (and the supermarket ones are often horrible quality), so I think I'd look for a really lovely fairisle one that could be worn all through the winter.

I have seen them with an almost 'snowflakey' design which looks pretty festive

CarpetKnees · 25/10/2025 19:12

Another who was going to recommend going to the Charity shops - they all have a rail full at this time of year.

If you aren't the type to be wearing it out and about, all over the place, then that seems the best idea to me (or Vinted, as linked above).

Britpopbaby · 25/10/2025 20:21

Charity shops. The ones I visit have them. You can get one cheap and then redonate afterwards.

OvertiredandConfused · 25/10/2025 22:12

I’m obviously missing something on Vinted, or maybe a tad too early.

Will try charity shops.

Thank you

Primark had some lovely ones in yesterday. Asda always have a good selection too

DiscoBeat · 25/10/2025 22:17

Congratulations on your amazing weight loss! Another vote for Vinted x

Floradon · 26/10/2025 08:05

I just bought a pure wool, fairisle jumper from Vinted for this Xmas. It was a Harley of Scotland one, new with tags and £25. It’s a lot more subtle than a proper Xmas jumper and more wearable.

dudsville · 26/10/2025 08:14

{mention:OvertiredandConfused}@OvertiredandConfused, have a look at things like Harvey's of Scotland. Excellent quality and classic.

Zoec1975 · 26/10/2025 08:21

Next have lots of red Xmas jumpers,Asda,Sainsbury’s,get them while you can though as sizes soon go.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 26/10/2025 08:22

Imho the biggest hurdle will be finding a v neck. They're all round neck/crew neck.

BellRock1234 · 26/10/2025 08:54

I think if you can find something you genuinely love, you will get a lot of wear out of it. So maybe something sparkly, rather than a deliberately "bad taste" type jumper. Out of stock now, but I've been wearing this all december, and other odd occasions for several years:

Ombre Sparkle Detail Jumper in Red - Roman Originals UK https://share.google/2OeqAmON8QXgT5SFP

Found it on vinted in a 16: www.vinted.co.uk/items/7383253457-red-ombre-sparkle-detail-jumper-size-16-new-without-tags

VenusClapTrap · 26/10/2025 08:56

Bugger sorry I missed that you said v neck.

Zoec1975 · 26/10/2025 12:43

Oh so did I :/
