Tights for navy dress

I’m wearing a navy dress to a wedding. It is knee length and I am wearing silver closed toe block heels. I’d like to wear some tights with it and I’m assuming the only acceptable colour is nude with this combo?

Any suggestions for a brand/shade of tights that will provide some coverage of my pasty legs without making them look orange compared to my arms and not being too obvious I’ve got tights on?

What's acceptable totally depends on your choice of style. My mum would agree with nude, and I can see that's a comfortable code that I might also make. My niece however, would go with navy, and I've a friend who would go with something fabulously wild like "cerise" or "fuschsia".

The only colour that would look ok is nude.

I don’t think tights that are darker than your shoe looks very nice. So if you’re set on silver shoes, I agree with nude.

The rare times I’ve worn nude tights in the last decade, they’ve come from Boots or JL and have not been in any way orange. I think the high street moved on from American Tan tights a long time ago!
