Mia Tui bags / how long do you expect a bag to last?

I've a Mia Tui backpack that I use regularly, it's not my day to day bag, but I use it if I'm going somewhere vaguely nice. I'm a bit disappointed as it's starting to fall apart, the material is flaking off and it's looking rather tatty. It's the fake leather version, not the fabric version.
Is the nylon version more hardwearing than the fake leather version and less likely to have this issue?

It's about 6 years old - are my expectations too high? Is this a normal life span for a handbag?

I don’t think it’s use, the fake leather they use for bags and belts decays after a few years whether you use it or not.

I’d get in touch with them to say you’re disappointed and ask them to comment. Maybe you have one that isn’t up to their usual quality. Their customer service is usually very good.

I have some lovely leather bags that don’t look their best in less than six years.
I honestly think you’re being a little unrealistic.

Although mine were used daily. They are fine, but do look old now.

Six years for fake leather is pretty good I think.

M and S replaced my leather bag after about ten years when the strap went. I was surprised but they did. When I was a store manager we accepted good back for 5 years on non electrical items, clothing garden furniture etc (Woolworths)

I had a mia to bag that I loved because it kept everything so well organised but it started flaking after about two years. They are not expensive but they are not that cheap either. And I don’t want to buy more land fill. So now I am looking for something similar but made in better quality material.

My work rucksack is Mia Tui and is going strong after 5 plus years. There’s a couple of scuffs but I’m not particularly careful with it. Also agree that their customer service is great.

Does anyone know what the texture of the fabric ones is like, and are they as hard wearing as the faux leather ones? I like the idea of the fabric bag being so much lighter than the leather effect ones.
