Bag Authentication

I am on the look out for a preloved bag - would prefer to buy a good preloved one because of a branding change, rather than price in itself, so not necessarily looking for 'cheap'.

I am sure I've heard people saying that the authentication isn't dependable though. Does anyone have any thoughts/warnings/recommendations, please?

Get it checked on purse forum. Excellent website full of obsessives.

I'm not sure if its a brand you would consider but Mulberry sell authenticated preloved bags on their official website.

Aaaah no, it's a particular bag I'm looking at, but thank you.

(Loewe Flamenco)

eBay offer authentication and Vestiere

I have bought Bottega bags from Designer Exchange. They have a lot of Loewe Puzzle and sometimes have Flamenco. Dress Cheshire & other similar shops also offer an authentication service.

As an aside I LOVE Loewe in general but am interested how things will go now Jonathan Anderson has left.

Gah, looking at one on Vestiare Collective - physical authentication is included, so you'd like to think it would be fine, but there's one photo that is ringing alarm bells with me.

(Purse Forum don't seem to have a Loewe authenticator at the moment.)

I'm going to post a link to it, for sport, as I'm not confident so I'm going to leave it.

Any bag fiends care to offer an opinion?

That’s a lovely bag but that second photo with the label looks a bit dodgy. Maybe it’s just a bad photo but for £1k+ secondhand, I’d expect the photos (and the bag) to be perfect.

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 31/10/2025 11:02

I think the label looks fairly in line with authentication photos, although obviously it's a very simple design and the real v. fake photos on t'internet don't make it any more conclusive for me.

It's the photo of the two straps that is rattling me - stitching doesn't look consistent across them both, more gappy on one.

I don't have any Loewe bags, only a belt but I have been in their shops a lot. That Made in Spain looks very lop sided.

Obviously you’d like to think authentication would have been trustworthy, but when you hear tales that it isn’t always … and even if they did bounce it, it’s still money in their accounts for a while and waiting for it to come back. Hey ho …
