Im going for a lunch date today & struggling to pull an outfit together. It's cold here so don't want to wear a dress. Help me!

Venue dependent

Obviously a greasy spoon is going to be different to a Michelin star restaurant

Jeans, ankle boots, silky blouse, blazer (ideally wool or tweed). Nice bag

Miller & Carter, I've heard they have a dress code but never been before so not sure

Bloody hell that will be a throwback to the nineties if they have a dress code

If you want to wear a dress, wear one, unless you’re planning on eating al fresco

jeans, boots, nice top or jeans, blazer and trainers. No dress code so just go and enjoy and wear what you feel comfortable in.

Hurumphh · 17/10/2025 08:33

Website says dress code is smart casual, no sportswear, so hardly restrictive!

Dress with warm tights, nice boots and a cardi?

Jeans, smart top, flats or heels?

Presuming you’re raiding your wardrobe at this short notice, want to post some options?

I have wide leg jeans & a black or grey blazer or black leather jacket. I'd normally wear trainers or converse with that. Dress, tights & boots is my usual workwear so wanted something different.

Wear whatever makes you comfortable, been to miller and carter a couple of times and it’s not as posh as it makes out , people were there in jeans and leggings , others were a little dressier. Your outfit of wide leg jeans sounds fine .
Enjoy your lunch ☺️

Just remembered I have a nice denim dress from Sosandar. Boots tights & a gilet. Sorted 😊

No sportswear generally means no football colours or sports bras. I've been to Miller & Carter in jeans and a t shirt & a leather jacket.

Do you have a belt? I find that adding a belt to jeans instantly makes me feel more dressed up.
