I’m thinking of blepharoplasty.

Is anyone who has had this surgery happy to post their before and after pictures . My own problem is to me my eyes look deep set and I feel my eye balls pop out . I have had a consultation today and I could have surgery to make them look less deep set . I have very few assets ( flat chest , poorly defined waist , broad back ) that make me feel feminine so this little bit of surgery would likely do my self esteem a bit of good if it goes the way I hope .

To minimise time off work that adds to the cost of having elective surgery I would like to have the surgery over Xmas ( I’m self employed ) but I’m not feeling very supported by the family. Tell me it’s worth it .

Your family might not be very supportive because they are looking at your lovely eyes and thinking you don’t need it. You have beautiful kind eyes and they might be worried that surgery might make them look different.

if you want surgery by all means go ahead - I think your family probably love you exactly as you are

Campbellcarrotsoup · 14/10/2025 21:50

I am following with interest as I may get it done in a few years. However one of the things i'm concerned about is that i'll end up with eyes that look a really different age to the rest of my face!

MrsPositivity1 · 14/10/2025 21:57

I’d love to get it done too

zeddybrek · 14/10/2025 21:58

Bumping for you as I am also considering it in a year or so.

Souredgrapes · 14/10/2025 22:00

@Campbellcarrotsoup . One of my concerns too . My eyes do bother me though. I’m hoping to get a less sunken look rather than a more youthful one . I’m only really happy to have my picture taken in sun glasses these days . Sometimes , when I smile I can feel my lids being pressed upon by the lax skin above . Hate it.

I’d look at the clinic’s social media pages as they often post before and afters. Also there’s social media groups for blepharoplasty and similar eye surgeries where people often post pictures too.

GarlicPound · 14/10/2025 22:05

My brother had it done recently. Perfect outcome - he looks exactly the same, but clearly not as his eyes aren't at all droopy. I didn't think he needed it but, as a PP described, he's my brother and I think he looks brilliant all the time.

Me, I'm just resigned to looking increasingly old 🙄 Pretty sure I look decrepit for my age by comparison, because everyone else I know is having stuff done that makes them look younger! Can't say I blame them, mind you: we live in a strange world now.

FiveFoxes · 14/10/2025 22:07

What kind eyes you have!

fancytoes · 14/10/2025 22:49

I’d be careful and temper your expectations, by taking skin out will it not leave it looking like there is less fat there?

Have you tried botox at the outer edges or to lift the eyebrow as a start before diving into surgery?

Breadcat24 · 14/10/2025 22:53

Had it -surgeon not very good, ended up with dry eye which means your eyes water all the time, had to have corrective treatment be careful

Mumto4loveliesxx · 14/10/2025 23:02

I had it done, under local anaesthetic at Signature Clinic about 4 years ago. It was very good value and I’m delighted with it. I have green eyes which are one of my better features and I like wearing eye makeup.
I had hardly any bruising, stitches came out after a week. I just got on with life as normal under some sunglasses.

There’s a whole FB group for this (I’m considering it hence watching the group)

I have this thread bookmarked as i'm probably going to get it next year

zeddybrek · 15/10/2025 10:36

Can anyone who had a positive experience with good outcomes share who they went with.

@Mumto4loveliesxx that's the dream for people like me considering it!

@GarlicPound I hope to have the same look as your brother, just a slightly enhanced version no major changes.

Would you mind sharing which clinic and surgeon was used or DM me and the OP?

I'm not on Facebook and some others might not be either. Thank you!

OP I’m not sure you need it yet! I don’t see lots of excess skin above your eye and I wonder if it might make your eyes look a bit hollow. I think your eyes look nice. I had it done about 6 years ago and as you can see from the photos my eyes were terrible! Lots of skin laxity that was only going to get worse over time. I’m in Scotland and paid around £1200 at the time but it will have increased in price now I presume. My plastic surgeon isn’t on social media-she’s kind of old school. I found her through personal recommendations.

I had this done earlier this year on the NHS as my vision was being affected. I wouldn't have had it done otherwise but I'm in my 60s and don't think a little change to my appearance is worth surgery. Maybe due to my age (and I also had my eyebrows lifted) but I was very bruised looking for 2-3 weeks.

TheFormidableMrsC · 15/10/2025 15:08

I think your eyes are lovely! My formerly very wide eyed peepers are now starting to look a bit hooded and make me look tired. I’d love to have it done but couldn’t do that surgery, I’m not brave enough. You have lovely eyelids that are perfect for eyeshadow and I think you should leave them as they are!

You look amazing!

Pppppplease · 15/10/2025 15:18

Had mine done at Signature Clinic last year best thing I ever did, I'm only in my early 30s but my hooded skin was sagging over my eyes and it aged me dramatically. Was done with local anaesthetic & i got the train home after on my own, recovery was easy peasy.

artherbrownlow · 15/10/2025 15:20

I had it done 10 years ago and my eyes still look better than they did before I had it done. I absolutely loved how I looked after the op. Many people commented about how well I looked, after I had it done, but they couldn't pinpoint what had changed. I had upper and lower done, although I was initially only going to have upper. At the time, it wasn't that much more money to have lower at the same time, so in the end I went for it. I am so glad that I did.

To me, it gave me back the old face that I used to have, and had actually forgotten I used to look like that.

GinandBearsIt · 15/10/2025 15:24

I'd think again because I thought the procedure was for drooping eyelids with excess, loose skin.

That isn't what your photo shows - if you're brave enough, maybe post one of both eyes?

I'm no expert on this but I think some 'eye jobs' are done by doing a forehead lift, which lifts the eyes.

You do have deep hollows and you may end up with deeper ones if the corners of your eyes are lifted.

Aluna · 15/10/2025 15:26

You really don’t need it OP your eyes are fine.

Gervhill · 15/10/2025 15:51

Blepharoplasty takes away excess fat/skin, you don’t seem to have any. I think upper eyelid filler would make a huge difference though, check out Dr Joshua on instagram, he has a clinic in London.

CalamityK8 · 15/10/2025 15:52

@sourgrapes I really don't think you need it and I'd be worried it would make your lovely eyes, which are deep set but very lovely, even more deep set and nowhere near as lovely as they currently are.

An excellent example from @thedogdaysareover51 , which shows how effective blepharoplasty is for 'hooded' eyes, which are the opposite of deep set, so I would proceed with caution.

Your eyes really are beautiful and I can't see how they would be improved by this surgery - in my view it would make them more deep-set than they already are, which I don't think is what you want. Honestly, they are very beautiful as they are.
